  1. The flakes in west Asheville are definitely dandruff like
  2. Interesting drive to Asheville earlier. Was 33 with some ice on trees going up Old Fort mountain before I hit the fog which was very bad near the top. As soon as I got to Ridgecrest, brilliant bright sun and the temp went up to 41. Then as soon as I got to Asheville the fog set back in.
  3. It definitely does. Still think this is primarily an 85 north system.
  4. I would take that GFS run. 2 inches of snow then half an inch of sleet with some zr on top for my location. I hope the initial band of snow is stronger with a front end thump of snow.
  5. Basically it looks like Texas to Arkansas is going to see more snow out of this than NC unless something changes.
  6. We have a slight amount of ice on the trees
  7. I'm concerned because you always bet the streak. We all know what the streak is..
  8. That could definitely be a problem. A major ice storm is certainly on the table
  9. UK is looking juicier too. Might be amped though
  10. Will probably be some slick spots in the morning. Especially on ridges.
  11. I think it depends on the location of the phase and where you live. In NC the trends aren't terrible. A bigger storm could mean more snow if the track is right. The worst outcome would be a weak mess with little precip. Give me a qpf bomb and I will take my chances. Places in GA and SC don't want that though.
  12. Models are trending toward a stronger system and more of a phase IMO.
  13. Canadian coming in with a bigger storm compared to previous runs
  14. DC has been praying to the snow gods I guess
  15. The energy in TN valley is still killing thermals and moisture transport into WNC.
  16. Of course Virginia gets nailed again with a late phase
  17. Don't think this GFS run will have much moisture.
