  1. Anyone else see the disconnect between current radar and how the nam looks?
  2. Radar comparison now vs 12z nam at 17z shows precip is further north and more expansive #notaradarhallucination
  3. The storm pulls in a good amount of moisture from the gulf (and even further south) during it’s formation. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if qpf juiced up more as we get closer.
  4. Nothing quite like the feeling of a good ole happy hour Naming especially when it reinforces 12z.
  5. If the Euro is on board should we move this storm to it's own thread (start <72h)?
  6. The storm that never ends just revived again... Nice band targeted at DC. Snow showers may continue through tomorrow morning!
  7. Radar looks amazing for DC (haven't said that in a LONG time). Could we pick up another 2-3 inches?
  8. If that band could just train over DC for a few hours that would be really nice
  9. Watching those echoes to our North and Northeast.... It's maddening and I really hope some bands survive to make it into Dc as the storm strengthens
  10. Nice to see bands forming down towards the northern neck. The further south there precip shield from the coastal develops the better for us all
  11. Radar starting to improve to the Southwest... As Bob Chill said those easterly winds at VA Beach are going to start working their magic
  12. Interesting what it's been doing with the 850s once the precip gets rolling.
  13. It’s not like it’s completely on its own... euro has had the same idea off and on. Plus there’s the wdi... We’re due for one to break our way
  14. Significant changes at H5 continue to happen on the GFS with that piece of energy up north this weekend. In the past 4 runs it went from northern Maine to Labrador. Surface doesn't look much better but things haven't finished trending in the right direction.
  15. Less H5 suppression on 18z GFS for this Friday/Sat. Still a bit of time!
  16. Getting off topic but we are at the same latitude as southern Spain and Sicily after all. Citrus groves and palm abound is those areas. Not too far fetched to imagine that around here in the next 100 years
  17. Might be setting the stage for some CAD to develop with that high pressure to the north on New Year's. Interesting evolution
  18. House cam in Colonial Beach Virginia shows nice stickage!
  19. Might be the biggest snow event of 2020 for DC!
  20. Want to start a Xmas Front thread?
