  1. Looks like MPV hit 29 overnight but it’s up to 40 now.
  2. Seems like lots of leaf drop today. Peak is passing fast.
  3. Why does anyone who may disagree have to be “offended”? I think Jerry was spot on. Why should he not politely tell James his take?
  4. My brother had 98 today in Thomasville, GA. He said he’s about had it. He said he doesn’t think it rained at all in September. He moved back down there in 1999 I’m not sure he really will move back up here but he’s definitely think about the mountains along north Georgia or NC.
  5. 48 in Hinesburg Vt. where I am sitting through an office “retreat”.
  6. I think just about every year goes the same way with me. I’ll look around and think it seems duller than usual and then one day everything goes boom! The foliage gets as vibrant as ever. This year I thought it was good early but that we have had some early leaf drop which has toned it down a bit. There is still some green out there too. I was in the Corinth/Topsham/Orange area today and there was some very vibrant views.
  7. Took a ride to W. Leb, NH today. Down VT RT. 14 to East Randolph and then over the mountain to VT Rt. 110 through Chelsea and Tunbridge. Quintessential Vermont valleys and generally a very scenic ride any time of year. To me, it was a bit dull and seemed brighter before the last couple of rain events. It seems like we lost some leaves to the rain and wind.
  8. This may be one of those years when the people who try to save a buck by booking bus tours slightly ahead of traditional peak season luck out.
  9. I wonder why MRG didn't get in on that?
  10. This might appeal to some of you. https://vtdigger.org/2019/09/23/as-ski-giants-consolidate-small-independents-form-their-own-cooperative/?utm_source=VTDigger+Subscribers+and+Donors&utm_campaign=9875e19e33-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_09_24_09_38&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_dc3c5486db-9875e19e33-405566485
  11. The color seemed to start early but hit neutral for the last several days.
  12. In VT 1927 Flood 1938 Hurricane 1998 Ice Storm 2007 VDay Snowstorm 2011 TS Irene I listed the first two even though I obviously wasn’t around because they had such a profound impact that I remember hearing stories growing up from people who were there and seeing remnants of the damage from them. They were the two biggest weather events of the 20th century.
  13. I took 2.5 weeks off from playing while on vacation in Germany. Came back and it felt like I had never played golf before. I shot my highest score for 9 holes in over 10 years. I think I've started getting some semblance of a game back but I'm almost afraid to tee it up.
  14. I think this must be what we have in a couple of sand traps at the golf course I play at. I wasn't sure what they were so we marked those bunkers as free drop areas for a tournament this weekend. Didn't want to chance anyone getting stung.
  15. My 60 degree wedge is 60 yards and in. 56 degree 60-100 yards and 52 degree from 90-110 or so
  16. First day of our club championship today. Was playing ok until the last 3 holes. Doubled 16 when I sliced my drive OB. Almost landed in a top down convertible BMW that was driving by. Hit my tee shot just short of the green on the par 3 17th. Pitched on and had a straight, flat 8 foot putt for par. Missed that and had a 3 footer for bogey. Missed that and had an 10” putt for double, was so pissed at that I slammed the putt hard, hit the flagstick and ricocheted out 2 feet, missed that putt too. Ended taking a 5 putt 7 on a par 3. I was steaming on the 18th tee and promptly sliced two into the trees. Found the second and ended up taking an 8. Being an ass, like I was on 17, never helps your golf game. I guess I won’t have any pressure on me in the second round tomorrow.
  17. I missed most of his round We took off for Mt. Washington just before noon and he hadn’t hit the back nine. I listened to quite a bit on satellite radio but missed the really hot stretch. Hoping to catch some tonight. I’m rooting for him. I’ve liked him since hit near miss at Oakmont a couple of years ago.
  18. Rory off to a horrible start +8, tied for 139th
  19. I think Rahm has a good shot. I think the pressure will be too much for Rory. The sentimental favorite has to be Graeme McDowell. I’ve always liked him and am glad he got into this one in his home town. I think Justin Rose might come through this time though.
  20. It’s Open Championship week. Royal Portrush looks like it will be fun. This may be my favorite major. I love the look and feel of links golf and the fact that it’s on before I go to work means I get to watch more than the others. I love the fact that the R&A doesn’t trick up the courses. If conditions allow for low scoring then so be it. If the field struggles to break par that’s fine too.
  21. Did Tip write that first sentence?
  22. Been a fun Open to watch. Was hoping Rory would come through. Woodland has shown nerves a couple of times but never buckled. Good for him. Koepka put some pressure on him and he held up. Great finish on 18.
