Seeing the pictures out of KY really puts my whining about the lack of snow in perspective. I know it’s apples to oranges but I’d rather deal with our crappy weather than that.
Just watched a shot movie on VT PBS about Bolton Valley. Ralph DesLauriers was saying they were supposed to open December 15, 1966 but there was no snow at all. He was having dinner with a local priest who said grace and mentioned they could really use some snow. He said it started snowing half an hour later and continued for something like 54 hours and dumped like 48”. They were able to open for Christmas and had a decent snow year after that.
I always heard +7 mph was safe anywhere but a school zone. But I’ve come to think that as long as you’re not being aggressive or erratic or out of whack with the conditions, you’re ok.
Watched some men’s GS from Beaver Creek last night. Lots of brown in sight away from the slopes. The announcers said highs were expect to reach the 50’s.
He is merely repeating the strategy that got him a little snow after he declared there was nothing on the horizon until the new year back in early November
Man, I wish the 80"s would come back. 18 years old, no gray hair, no paunch. Wearing my spandex, teasing my hair and spraying it with Aquanet. Good times, good times
