  1. Only 0.07 because it was a line of summer-like thunderstorms which almost always fails here. We do well in the stratiform rain events like last week but thunderstorms nasomuch. I was a kid in Calvert and remember decent summer T-storms. Man here is is unreal as we are lucky to get 2 or 3 thunderstorms in an entire summer.
  2. It's been unreal over there. One CoCoRaHS spot close to Ocean City has just 1.11 from August 1 to today
  3. That is some pretty heavy looking rain moving from southern PA into NW MD. This will sound crazy coming from me but do not need LOL The light rain last night and this morning has been beneficial though
  4. This is CoCoRaHS for a spot just east of Clarksburg and a couple miles NE of me; iWeather zoomed in on the same spot has 3.93. I thought the iWeather map was pretty spot on but does it sometimes over-estimate by that much?
  5. We are lucky we set the seed last Monday and it's already coming up! It's on a hill so if this rain happened last week, our seed would be in the neighbors' yards
  6. Incredible! The iWeather map has me at 3.58 inches. That is more rain that I had for most of the summer combined. Perfect timing as I have new seed and sod down and have almost broke my sprinklers LOL
  7. Don't like that swath of 0.25 or less just to my southwest. We HAVE to score this time
  8. This sounds super-tasty for the northern MD folks. I hope you and your extra crispy yards get it! "...widespread showers and heavy rainfall especially north of I-70. 1-1.5 inches of rain are expected generally north of US-50 with the potential for as much as 3 inches north of I-70..."
  9. Congrats and enjoy! I grew up in Calvert so I understand the winter pain LOL
  10. Beautiful 59 degrees this morning. I like fall but dread the 5-6 months of bare trees with 30s and 40s and rain that comes after.
  11. Only got about 0.2 to finish a very dry month but the temps are great. I let most of the lawn just go and it's dormant.
  12. Where was this heat two weeks ago when I was in OC? That was the coldest beach week I've ever had. Speaking of OC, the NWS rainfall map has less than 0.1 for the last 30 days there. I and I thought it was dry here
  13. Woo hoo caught a surprise little shower for 0.13, first rain in weeks. I'm used to being drier here than other places (orographic micro-desert) but this summer's been ridiculous. There are places not far away with 4-5 TIMES the rainfall I've had since July 1.
  14. Almost a complete whiff for my area and it looks like that was the last chance for any rain for a very long time. It's amazing how this area gets as much as everywhere else during our six months of 30s/40s and rain, but gets very little in summer. Such a weird place
  15. 0.07 total. I just snicker now when I see forecast of rain
  16. East of I95 looking good; as I said earlier I'll be watering tomorrow
  17. Nice training cluster over eastern MoCo
  18. I fully expect to run my sprinklers tomorrow morning
  19. I need to get used to this heat again after being in chilly OC until today. We were in the low/mid 70s every day with some pretty stiff sea breezes. I can't believe there were people in that water. Hell no! But it was sunny every day while rain poured for 2-3 days just 80-100 miles east. I can tell it's been dry here at home as the grass is dormant and ground hard as rock. Thankfully the neighbors watered our pots and beds, which I'll do for them this week while they're gone. I'm hoping we all get a nice shot of soaking rain coming up tomorrow night and Monday
  20. I have been so lucky in OC MD this week! From Monday until today there has been a large swath of rain and embedded storms on radar just sitting less than 100 miles east but we have been sunny and in the 70s. I just looked at the 72 hour rainfall map and wow there are areas of 4-7 inches out there. Talking about dodging a bullet
  21. Extreme drought in a wide swath of eastern Mass. How did that happen?
  22. Absolutely beautiful in OC MD this week with sun and mid/upper 70s each day. A few days ago it looked like a rainy Mon/Tue but that threat dissipated like a Mid-Atlantic snowstorm on the Euro
  23. Ended up with a total of 0.61 yesterday which is OK. Incredible how much rain keeps hitting the same areas.
  24. Nice light, pitter patter rain and 72 degrees. Gimme this for a few hours
  25. Managed 0.37 from the edge of that earlier storm, with 1.0 to 1.5 amount just a mile or two away. I'm lucky I got anything though with places close to the north getting skunked. It's amazing how the same places keep getting nailed over and over again this summer
