  1. Stuff we like to read this time of year... First mentions of 0C 850mb in the AFD. .SHORT TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT/... As of 354 AM EDT Monday...Mid/upper lvl trof deepens acrs ne conus on Tues Night into Weds with moderately strong llvl caa behind departing cold front. Have noted progged 850mb temps near 0c off the GFS at 12z Weds, while NAM is in the 2-3c range, with breezy 850mb winds of 25 to 35 knots. This will be an advection type cold, with coldest values at summits and warmest near Lake Champlain.
  2. Pretty decent shot across the bow on Wednesday. Tuesday afternoon the GFS and NAM have 60s up here while BDL is 90F though, lol. But Wednesday's high temps look pretty nice region wide... 50s up north and 60s to maybe low 70s way down south.
  3. Rain showers moving through up here right now... not warm at 73F but it’s very humid. Dew has to be near 70F now that it started raining.
  4. I've always loved the topography down there. As an Albany kid, taking weekend school bus trips on the weekend to S.VT areas like Snow/Bromley/Stratton/Magic, once you got towards Manchester it felt like you "arrived" in the mountain communities. All the sudden you are driving through a valley with 3K or higher around you. It'd definitely a solid vertical relief area compared to other parts of VT that are more rolling hills.
  5. That’s some big rain. There's an axis of 4-6" rain, with a surrounding zone of 2-4", and widespread 1"+ rainfall. Like Tip said earlier, that's some Iowa stuff. Here's a snapshot of RT 9 in Mass... got raked.
  6. What a rain event just north of the Pike and west of ORH. Narrow zone there with 4-6" it seems. There's a spot in Ware, MA just over 6" if it's legit. But it's in the same zone as 3-5" amounts. Wickabog Pond in Brookfield probably saw a pretty good rise in water level. Nearing 5" in that area.
  7. September is so much like March... it offers a mix of both the previous season and also starts to preview the upcoming season at times. Also can lead to some big gradients across New England for sensible weather as the seasons start to battle it out.
  8. It's like the late winter equivalent of when Tip starts talking about how warm the interior of vehicles is now getting in the sunshine, and DIT starts calling snowfalls as "stat padders only" because daytime snow starts leading to wet pavement.
  9. You’ve gotta be getting crushed with rain right now?
  10. Ha, yeah she’s about ready to go down at this point after 1,800 vertical feet... only had a couple more hundred verts to go through the switchbacks, then time to go down. She always gets a bunch more energy back when she realizes it’s time to go down...I think her acting tired is all a ploy on the way up.
  11. Yeah looks like the pond there on the CT/MA line is getting smoked all the sudden. My folks are getting a nice drink. Sitting under 55-60dbz right now.
  12. Turned into a nice late afternoon after the sun came out and temps warmed out of the 60s. Got a nice hike I’m up the street with the dog.
  13. It was 69F here at 2pm today while it was like 93F at BDL. Ended up with a late day spike to 81F for a max... but large part of the day was in the 60s.
  14. A month or two worth of rain in like 3 hours lol.
  15. ORH with 1.63” and pouring again. Probably finish the day near 2”.
  16. Someone in that area had to get crushed between both lines. Spencer, MA has just been in it pretty much the whole time it seems too.
  17. That stuff W/NW of ORH is blowing up each scan. Now like 4-5 different cores of 60+ dbz.
  18. Looks like ORH and just north are getting in line for another drenching. Maybe get to 1.5-2” on the day at the ASOS.
  19. Funny how one event will certainly move ORH and BOS down the driest summer list. 1+ inch of rain is probably good for a decent bump down the list actually.
  20. BOS and ORH ASOS both over 1” water. BOS gust to 42mph, ORH to 62mph.
  21. That whole line looks like it’s about to run a train on you.
  22. What a line down the Pike. Thats legit.
  23. Sun came out and MVL went up 9F in 10 minutes, lol. 79F now.
  24. Looks like a pretty good torch. I keep wondering if we’ll break out into it but the clouds are stubborn.
