  1. I think it depends. As someone who was instructed that firing an individual for failing to comply with state and company guidelines last winter. I know you are dealing with much higher wage employees who likely take it very seriously... more than a youngster just bouncing around ski bumming after college... but if you fire people for violating company policy, and you make those guidelines company policy, I think legally you have a good shot. You could make them wear red shirts on Tuesday if you want to. Uniform policy. Non disclosure policies. I think legally the issue would be if a COVID test is a violation of personal information. As long as there is another option besides getting the jab (no matter how ridiculous it is), employers will be ok here. It's annoying but it's the same as if a company was like hey, you need to ride public transportation or you need to get your car inspected weekly. My biggest question is... does the employer pay for the weekly COVID testing? If they do and it's company policy, it's just like any other policy IMO that an employee has to follow. It will be interesting to follow legally. People may start becoming more likely to litigate their employers the longer it drags on.
  2. Four inches? Transient dustings.
  3. Liquidate it all. Move to Randolph.
  4. I’d share a beer with you and give you a hug .
  5. Business owners all around are making those decisions. You’re the big boss. This seems very personal. I read it all, it’s entertaining. But I’ll never believe there aren’t some serious amphetamines getting housed in this thread for some to stay so laser focused on this topic from morning to night. It’s like in college when a friend says take this, it’ll help with your paper and then you write a 19-page introduction paragraph. It’s the only way to stay so astutely focused on a topic all day every day.
  6. This thread is like team sports forum but society… very weird. Suggest more in here get outside once in a while. Just to get away from hammering Adderall and settling in for 12 hours of debate.
  7. Were the westward NAM runs correct or was that just like winter?
  8. Reality so far. NAM looks pretty wrong for those pimping it.
  9. Same up here with that one, ha. The razor sharp western edge is ride or die usually. Risky.
  10. It’s true. Everything evens out a bit… likely regresses slightly to the early season computer models a little bit. You fear regression when performing well and look for it when underperforming. Snow or sports.
  11. I've definitely developed a little fetish this season for outfield assists. Never felt that tickle before but they are exciting plays, emotional roller-coasters (hit! but no, thrown out!). That's a great throw, even for a Yankee.
  12. 18 strikeouts by the local sportsball team tonight, while hitting three home runs. Win 4-1 against a sub-par team but you take the positives when you get them.
  13. Oh my bad man, I feel like an ass ha. I thought everyone had been inundated with water this July. Figured mreaves was being sarcastic about drought stress. You’ve been seeing drought stress down there?
  14. It’s definitely a bizarre illness. Both of my sisters have had it… healthy 20s and 30s. One just lost taste and smell and the other had a strong week long flu and so did her fiancé. I think they had it worse as they were in the first initial April working in NYC hospitals group when It seemed even healthy folks were have strong flu reactions.
  15. It’s crazy the wide range of outcomes. My soon to be brother in law’s father is still in the hospital from COVID. It’s been 7 months now. Recurring pneumonia though he’s been off a ventilator for a couple months. In his 50s, and before it’s asked not morbidly obese… average dude, probably could lose 10-15 pounds but picture an average dude walking 18 holes on the golf course. My sister has already delayed their wedding for a second time as they won’t get married until he can attend. New date is next April. This isn’t a commentary on policy or how we should deal with COVID, but it has hit some hard. His wife barely had a cold, he ends up in the hospital for 7 months.
  16. As usual, ORH is just enough in any given direction to be included .
  17. Local sportsball team needs to remove head from arse and look forward.
  18. Who’d have thunk a summer banter thread in this sub-forum would ever see over 5.1k replies?! On par or more than a HECS thread. And not one single mention of a dew point.
  19. Ha, nah, being in the trenches with the team in the service industry? That’s how you win respect. You take the pissed off Dad who’s kids have been azzhats the entire drive and Mom is about to just walk away from the whole thing? Convince them to relax and have a good time… that’s what they pay you for. Definitely a difference between a product trying to be manufactured and a product that is an experience.
  20. I’d work for you. I’ve always found that being in the trenches with the employees makes for a performing workforce. Being remote, staying invisible, not interacting in person… that’s not a leader. COVID not withstanding.
  21. Yeah wow, time to end that. Even the 8-floors of corporate offices and shared workplaces (called the mothership) out in Denver are all admin, desk jobs and they’ve been back for many months. Jobs that could be done remotely but returned once state’s vax status hit a given level.
