  1. It's awesome we are getting some posters under the small heavy rainfall footprints. Nice stuff guys.
  2. No one is Wading into that River. Joking aside, it’s impressive how drought resistant most vegetation aside from lawn grass is.
  3. I always love your backyard, ha. The rain was incredibly efficient this evening. I felt like we got grazed and still had 0.57” in short order.
  4. It’s hard for here to get totally screwed in summer. Anything coming from the west can feed on the heat/humidity advected in on southerly flow up the wide Champlain Valley… then hits the Green Mountains after getting juiced up by the Champlain basin. Its like moisture pooling ahead of the topography.
  5. 0.57” and ~1.3” since Sunday night. Some big numbers in spots. Good swath of 2”+ south of BTV to west slopes.
  6. BTV nearing 1.00” of rainfall. Just S/E of the airport has numerous stations of 1.50-2.25”.
  7. That’s a sick grab! Thunder and lightning here with some torrential rain. I think someone 5-10 miles southwest of here probably got 2-3” of rainfall.
  8. Looks like a little meso low along the line? The convection moving northward within the general easterly motion?
  9. No ocean beach day, was just a quick trip to go to Fenway with my father after getting some free tickets. Was able to swim and float for a bit at the lake. Will be back down in late August for 7-10 days. Probably will try for Misquamicut a day when down there at that time.
  10. Mesoscale Discussion 1606 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1217 PM CDT Thu Jul 28 2022 Areas affected...Central/eastern/northern NY Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 505... Valid 281717Z - 281915Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 505 continues. SUMMARY...An evolving cluster across central NY should continue to pose a threat for two-three west/east-oriented swaths of damaging winds. DISCUSSION...Deepest updrafts are located on both the northern and southern flanks of an emerging cluster from the Finger Lakes to the Upper Saint Lawrence Valley. 17Z mesoanalysis indicates MLCAPE has increased to 1000-1500 J/kg ahead of this activity as surface temperatures have broadly warmed through the upper 70s to mid 80s. The BUF VWP has consistently sampled 40-kt westerlies as low as 2-km AGL in the wake of the cluster, while strong mid/upper-level speed shear evident in TYX will foster organization potential, including a threat for small hail. With a 52 mph gust measured at 1635Z at the Penn Yan NY Mesonet site, expect a threat for 45-60 mph gusts within the deepest cells and small bowing segments as they spread towards eastern NY. ..Grams.. 07/28/2022 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product... 11. I will say being down there, there’s a lot of golden brown lawns everywhere. Driving to Fenway along the Charles River in Boston, every single park looked like something out of the dust bowl. Just golden wheat color ground, kids playing in dusty rags for clothes like the parents gave up washing them, and building sand castles where their soccer fields used to be. Tumbleweeds blowing across the rotary circles, men dressed as Jesus holding signs that say “Stein 7:22” like it’s a Bible verse. Handing out pamphlets. Store’s even selling “Stein Pants.” Forget Gore-Tex and moisture wicking technology… this material will keep you wet and damp all day long. The men’s Stein Pant by Obermeyer.
  12. Back up north… 79/55. About how you draw up a late July day. Pretty much the whole drive from CT to N.VT the car showed mid-70s high spots on I-89 to low 80s on I-91 in Mass. 75-83F variety day.
  13. What an enjoyable sleeping night in NE CT. Windows wide open and 50s right now.
  14. I love them, great view of the dugout and we are the section right behind the camera well. I mean I guess you swivel your head but you do it to look in any direction. I’m staring at Vazquez at 1st base. The seats are angled in a bit but if they were angled more you’d have to look over your shoulder to see the outfield. This is dead ahead. Great view of the infield and Sanchez messing up that double play. Dugout starts at the railing on the left.
  15. Great weather for a ball game. Wanted to see what a dumpster fire looks like, but it’s Ortiz night after his HOF induction so at least there’s something fun. Free tickets help too, ha. Hopefully not the last time I see Bogaerts.
  16. Oh man what a difference in CT from yesterday evening. BDL dew of 57F is a lot different than 74F yesterday when golfing. Almost a 20F dew drop. Feels fresh and dry. My folks shutting A/C off and opening them up.
  17. Looks like dews got to the lower 50s at home this evening. Big change to go from a few of 69F this morning to 52F this evening, alas not there to enjoy it. 63/57 currently at MVL… while it’s swampy in NE CT. Probably only a couple miles from DavisStraight as the crow flies to be honest, ha.
  18. I had to chuckle to myself how empty the course was (literally only 3 groups playing) and my folks said these humid days it’s dead. Maybe it was the chance of storms that kept folks away, but all I could think of were posts on here from some certain folks saying how much people love high humidity for summer outdoor activities. It’s basically beach or bust though in that line of thought. Folks did not seem stoked to rush out and golf this afternoon in the swamp air .
  19. With that said, I came down to CT this morning a couple towns over from the Electric Blue, and god damn it felt like a steam bath today. BDL had a 74F dew at 1pm and on the golf course it felt all of that. Just soaked in sweat. Wasn’t “hot” but man those 70s dews are gross. Golf game was ok, but felt like playing in Florida humidity.
  20. Yeah the RH values tell the story on several of the afternoons. There were 30-40% RH around the ASOS stations.
  21. At $17.5 million that’s right in my price range, ha. But wow I never heard or have seen that. Cool house idea. The real estate market around here is absolutely bonkers. In under 10 years our townhome value has like quadrupled. If I had somewhere to go, I’d put ours on the market for something outrageously high and see if anyone would bite. I remember seeing the place Phin got in NH… the space in square footage, build quality, the views, the property, etc and the price. People in Stowe are buying like 900 square foot condos for what Phin got his pad for. It’s madness.
  22. ~0.70” overnight and still raining.
  23. There can be some wild lapse rates at times from ORH to BDL and BOS.
  24. Has BOS been questioned lately?
