  1. Ha, yeah stuff breaks. Mechanical parts in highly unforgiving environments and ski areas don’t just stock 100% replacement parts on their shelves. Regarding the differences in skier opinions, a friend passed this along that was funny. I’ve been enjoying the Lookout Double though, going old school and it’s kept the majority of people away. Some skiers seem insulted they can’t get a high speed ride up to literally the same open terrain, ha. Not ideal to be waiting on parts but at least there’s a lift that still goes there.
  2. It’s pretty close with 4” at DDH right near the NY/VT border, with the full hole a few miles west of there. There’s actually sleet in that model for DDH on the downslope.
  3. 18z Canadian HRRR at 48 hours… that’s just a wild boundary between 20” and nothing in the Berkshires. Then also Hudson Valley to Catskills.
  4. Good 12z Euro for the Maine friends closer to the coast it looks like.
  5. My buddy keeps sending me the Alta Ski Patrol board numbers. Sometimes it’s low ratio graupel at 4” water to 20” snow. But this time it’s 40:1 ratio fluff. They are at almost 200” of snowfall this season on December 14.
  6. Healthy half inch to an inch moving through. Foot prints filling in. I love when it snows in the evening. There's something about it happening while sitting on the couch looking out at the flood lights. Snow growth is excellent, stackable flakes.
  7. Wife and I were in Morrisville getting groceries at Price Chopper and came out to the car covered in snow during the time we were inside. Some good squalls moving through. Looked like Morrisville had a little more snow than Stowe during the past event. Usually it seems like a bit less or warmer, but they might have gotten a local max in the last one.
  8. Haven’t we been tracking a storm for a week now? Sure maybe it hasn’t broken the right way but we have been tracking an event all week.
  9. Low of 2F with some rime/frost on the trees. Very cold.
  10. I won't lie, I root for the ALB to Berkshires axis too from growing up a snow weenie in that area. It can be a good interior snow zone with those marginal thermals and hugging lows.
  11. Frigid out at 11pm. 5-6F on the local ASOS and PWS. Just took the dog out for last time this evening and it is bone-chilling cold. Heat is cranking inside to keep up. Fake heating costs for sure compared to those seeing 20s for temps right now. SLK at -1F before midnight .
  12. GFS is very close for the forum populous. ALB and S/W area gets crushed.
  13. Goes to town for snow in ENY/ALB area that just raked 6+ in this past event.
  14. Wild snow drought for these parts where it can fart 1-3” at least excuse possible, especially early season. Went 3 weeks without a snowfall over 1”. Photo of 1500ft plot at the south end RT 108 winter closure gate this morning.
  15. Wild snow drought for these parts where it can fart 1-3” at least excuse possible, especially early season. Went 3 weeks without a snowfall over 1”.
  16. Morning alpenglow today was awesome as the 2" of snow for the mountain reflected the direct early sunlight. The mountain literally glows for a few minutes each morning at sunrise.
  17. Not going to lie, that sim radar of a firehose has me channeling my inner Tippy with it flashing over to pounding silver dollars. Hard to get that QPF with 850s below 0C and see rain, though I'm sure onshore flow has something to do with it.
