  1. GGEM and GFS generally held from 00z.
  2. Beautiful sunny day finally on the hill. Presidentials rising above clouds to the north, and south side is Franconia Notch area.
  3. The individual ensembles are all over the place. These maps are largely BS but show the spread. The forum just needs a P21.
  4. Hey at least you're honest about it, ha. GFS/GGEM/EURO/ICON all offer hope but dangerous because it's still 5 days away. Way out there in la la model land.
  5. Yeah beautiful morning. Everything pasted white again. Trees looked beautiful from town to the mountain. Alpenglow this morning was on point... whole east side just glowing pink.
  6. The EURO and GGEM aren't as big but are showing warning level snows too. The three big models all have a decent snow at this point for NNE in some fashion. It's not completely on its own. I'm not saying it's going to happen per se but everyone is just so gun-shy they will toss everything all the time at this point.
  7. Just a hunch the Mainers would sign for this.
  8. Yeah been a snowy vibe evening. We’ve got a standing wave going this evening with steadier snows down into town than at the mountain, oddly enough. Driving through the galaxy big flakes this evening. Mountain has gained about 4” of dense upslope last day or so.
  9. I shouldn’t have looked at that, ha ha. 18-24”. Sensibly that’s a bit different than 4-5 days of rain on the GGEM.
  10. Look on the bright side, at least the NW flow and high RH was able to squeeze out some snow last night, ha. Orographic dense 3.5-4" past 30 hours or so.
  11. Yes, 100% and this is the difficulty of having a discussion where climate change enters the chat. Things can be getting warmer BUT also not be the main cause of our ratter winter so far. Both of those statements can be true. Climate change is not putting a mean upper level trough over the inter mountain west with above normal heights over us. That’s just a shitty draw on a pattern that does not want to budge.
  12. It is an absolute banner winter out west though. Lake Tahoe, Alta/Jackson, Steamboat, etc. When I think climate change, I think lack of snows east and west. To me when the Sierra to Wasatch to Tetons to Rockies are having absolutely ridiculous seasons to date snowfall wise, that’s just a persistent trough being situated in the wrong place. Its the classic snowy west and not snowy east… trough/ridge combo. There is a ying to our yang.
  13. Why not? 925mb temps are colder up near Springfield than HFD? You get Wxbell too now?!
  14. Almost baseball season. At least Red Sox just showed something of a pulse giving Raffy Devers the largest contract on record for a third baseman.
  15. Pretty mixed signal there on that map . At least the positive anomalies are localized.
  16. Yeah I thought I remembered some holiday week snows. And maybe just before up here too. One of the better skiing holiday weeks the past two decades I think if remembering it right. Feb 2013 obviously turned things around down south.
  17. I thought that winter had some solid December snows. Maybe it was more NNE. I remember that holiday period being very snowy.
  18. I agree even though fully guilty. I wish I remembered more to post in Banter if it has no weather relevance. I’d move my posts, and went to sports forum after initial posts. It definitely used to be different. 20 years ago, no one pressed “send” or “post” unless it absolutely had to be said and was well researched/reasoned. That was if you thought you were worthy enough to hear from on list-serves, bulletin boards, etc. Social media has changed things. We never used to share feelings with weather at the beginning. Now it’s largely the conversation.
  19. I guess I'm going and hoping on there have been skiers who have fallen very hard and gone into some sort of arrhythmia from trauma of hitting chest just the wrong way.... only to have the AED shock up to 4 times and make a save. Those folks usually end up taking breaths on their own though.
