    Yeah we got a quick third of an inch this morning and then most of the day has been ok. Wondering about fireworks though as a line of SVR Warned is entering Champlain Valley. Hopefully this stuff can die down.

    That’s what it was, I was trying to place my finger on it. The bubbling look to the Cu but pretty consistent bases. Very clear and defined without the haze that 70 dews often bring.

    Torrential rain. These little suckers pack some water.

    81/70 at 10:30am is pretty damn high end. Good lord that’s a steam bath outside. Had a brief few drops of rain and hearing distant Thunder to the north. But sun is out and the ASOS dews are 70F.

    Crushed. My folks a mile south of the CT/MA border in Southbridge just getting raked. If you are on Lebanon Hill Rd you are right there too. These dews lead to heavy rainfall rates.

    That’s some solid rainfall. Probably 5-weeks worth.

    Yeah just went to BOX and looped it, that looks like a direct rain hit going up 84. My folks said they got hit solidly last night in Woodstock but nothing during the day. Wonder if it makes it that far NE tonight. CT on the whole looks to be getting a great drink this evening into tonight.

    Ahh interesting. That’s my time of reference too, as a kid in the 90s. I feel like we’d go in the summer and it’d be like 59F at Misquamicut or if it was 64F my dad would be pumped. @Ginx snewx can probably clarify if that’s just my mind playing tricks on me from 25 years ago.

    That’s impressive. Not sure why I thought it really struggled to get over 70F. Hasn’t been that hot either.

    That seems warm for the Atlantic up there but I have no idea. I feel like we used to go later in August and it’d be like 65F even then.

    That’s better. Enjoy the sun. It honestly looked like a cloud and wasn’t clear in that other shot.

    Ever since his “breaks of sun” photo from a couple weeks ago showing like 3 different cloud layers but if viewed at just the right angle to the horizon the middle layer was broken barely enough to show blue… it’s hard to know if the weather is actually nice or it’s just summer enthusiasm.

    Thanks, forget it’s still nice even when the weather is crappy. But I need a few straight sunny days to avoid a summer melt here soon .

    Of weather that makes people drink? Heres right now. Rain stopped, just some mist. Ceilings at 2,000ft… sort of claustrophobic in the valley as the mountains disappear into the clouds on all sides. Its either this or smoke.

    So all last night and then most of today there’s been these standing thunderstorms on the north slope of the Adirondacks. I wish I could loop a radar past 12 hours or so. It’s just been sitting there in N.NY in the same area since last evening. Radar estimates are now in the 8-10” range and they just keep gushing water.

    Mid-level magic in July is just awesome. Always being about 15 miles away from dry but the band keeps invigorating overhead.

    I think I’m summer it’s real easy to get different perceptions because wet usually comes with some dews that’s elevate minimums… while folks see clouds and rain and “cooler” temps in the daytime. It would be interesting to see maximum and minimum departures. And like you said, June we usually rush summer temperatures a bit too fast, when normals aren’t there yet. So expecting 85+ every day makes it feel cool if it’s like 75F… but that may actually be normal.
