The RGB water vapor shows the ingested dry air really well, plus still has shear on the SW side.

On three passes thru the center, NOAA recon flight got 2 readings of 962 and one of 961. So any intensification is not showing up yet on the central pressure.

Probably just delayed reaction to getting better organized. Maybe we will see something on the 3rd pass thru the eye.

The AF recon found 966 on the 2nd pass, but I think they missed the center. They were off course, tried to correct it, but still missed. Will wait for the 3rd pass.

Finally got a reading from the 2nd pass of the recon plane. 960, up from 958 on the first pass.

Looks like 2nd pass numbers are delayed. But those wind barbs speak volumes as to the current strength of Lee

Bermuda is such a tiny dot in the Atlantic, it is awful hard for it to get a direct hit. They have had brushes with powerful storms before, and are well prepared for these situations.

ERC plus shear is taking its toll. I am confident that once the shear lessens, the weakening trend will end.

Two new recon flights headed to Lee. one NOAA, one AF. It will be interesting to see what they find.

I believe Tuesday or Wednesday it should start to move north, instead of WNW. But one of the pro forecasters can chime in on this one to confirm. Right now it will stay well off the east coast until at least Maine, or possibly Nova Scotia, at this point.

Latest satellite photos appear to show the eye completely obscured, and that shear hitting Lee hard at the moment. Is the consensus that Lee will see a bit more weakening on the next NHC report?

Look for icyclone aka HurricaneJosh aka Josh Morgerman on Twitter. He is trying to figure out where it will make landfall so he can penetrate the eye.
