  3. Any sun this morning should fade as the cold front approaches this PM. Rain should start by late afternoon toward early evening. Heaviest rain overnight with up to a couple inches possible in spots. The impacts of TS Debby will keep us wet for much of the rest of the work week. Chester County records for today: High 104 degrees at Sadsburyville (1918) / Record low 44 degrees at Phoenixville (1957) / Rain 2.19" at Longwood Gardens (2020)

  5. First off my analysis is certainly not for any climate division as PHL/NE PHL/Marcus Hook are part of the Atlantic Coastal Plain and not in the Piedmont no matter how the above is grouped. The land geography changes to rolling hills west of philly. The raw data for Chester County PA stands and of course is the actual data specific and exclusively for Chester County. Pooling non related data from another county and topography like multiple Philadelphia stations and Marcus Hook is not represent the actual Chester County data.
  6. Sunny and warm today but a bit less humid. Rain chances increase by tomorrow night with a cold front approach. A flood watch in effect for tomorrow night and then rain chances continue for most of the week with the remnants of Debby moving up the coast late week. Chester County records for today: High 102 degrees at Kennett Square (1918) / Low 44 degrees at Phoenixville (1951) / Rain 2.43" at Phoenixville (1923)

  8. Below is an analysis of the actual average annual Chester County PA temperatures over the last 100 years from 1924 through 2023. We have been in our current warming cycle since the 1990's but have to date still failed to reach the warmth we experienced in the 1930's. Will we get as warm as then before our next cooling cycle??

  11. Most spots across the county have seen between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain over the last couple days. The most I found was at West Grove with 2.06" and the least at Devault with only 0.63". Shower chances again this afternoon. Tomorrow looks like the sunniest day of the week with temps well into the 80's and maybe 90 in some lower spots in Chesco. Rain chances ramp up again on Tuesday and look to last for much of the week including some remnants from Tropical Storm Debby. Chester County records for today: High 104 degrees at Phoenixville (1931) / Low 47 degrees at Coatesville (1951) / Rain 6.23" at West Bradford (2020) from the remnants of TS Isaias.

  13. As has been the case much of this summer some pretty wide ranges in rainfall amounts since yesterday across the county. Some totals Nottingham 1.26" / West Grove 1.17" / Warwick Twp. 1.12" / East Nantmeal 0.95" / Atglen 0.91" / West Bradford 0.54" / Chester Springs 0.47" / Devault 0.26" / Brandywine Airport 0.16" More rain chances today and tomorrow. Monday looks sunny and likely the only day this week with a chance at a 90 degree reading in some spots. By mid week temperatures should trend to be a bit cooler than normal for early August. Chester County records for today: High 102 degrees at West Chester (2002) / Low 47 degrees Morgantown/Elverson (1959) / Rain 4.55" at West Chester (1950)

  17. Absolutely not! It has nothing to do with global temperature trends. It is exclusively about the actual climate of Chester County PA

  20. Sorry Tim I am using the averages across all 28 NWS county stations since 1894 to smooth out any equipment issues etc. No bias for any one individual station.
  21. Here in Chester County PA 9 of our top 20 warmest summers occurred in the 1930's and 1940's during our warmest cyclical warming phase. During our current cyclical warming phase - 6 of the top 20 have occurred since 2000.
  22. Agreed 100% I changed my profile pic yesterday to change the Phillies luck.....it did not go swell! So now I have changed it back to Phillies with a different logo. Trying to bring back the good juju!! Go Phillies!!!
  23. We will have to go to the actual statistics for Chesco back to 1894 to assess...but I would be stunned if this is a hottest summer!
