truth!! but still there is certainly nothing remotely close to alarming about those actual temp trends since the 1890's

Spring time (March thru May) Average Temperature trends 1893 thru 2023. Blue is actual and orange is the NCEI adjusted average temperatures. Actual is pretty steady.....after NOAA adjustments some solid warming is clear!

Spring Average Temps Actual vs Adjusted NCEI since 1893 - Who sees the climate crisis in Chester County PA? Thankfully the NCEI adjusted figures do show a warming trend.....without those adjustments....not so much!!

Most spots touched the 80 degree mark yesterday with the exception of West Grove and East Nantmeal "only" hitting 79 degrees. All locales today will reach the low to mid 80's with plenty of sun. Shower chances will be around for the Memorial Day weekend with the best chances at some rain being Tomorrow and the best days with some sun being both Friday and Sunday. Chester County records for today: High 98 degrees at Phoenixville (1934) / Low 31 degrees in West Chester (2002) / Rain 2.59" at Coatesville 1SW (1915)

A nice couple of warm days on the way with highs near 80 degrees today and into the low to mid 80's tomorrow. Next chance of showers by Thursday. For the Memorial Day weekend Friday looks great with sunny skies and temps near 80 degrees. Unfortunately, our weekend pattern for unsettled weather looks to continue. No washouts but some showers are possible almost anytime through the weekend. Daily records for Chester County for today: High 97 degrees at Phoenixville (1934) / Record low 30 degrees in West Chester (2002) / Rain 5.56" at West Chester (1894)

So how about we compare another 100 year analysis between those 2 sites say 400 years ago to see if there is a pattern in there.....or just a cyclical time period we are looking at here that has actually happened before?
-
Because we do not have any of that actual temperature data....
-
The relative rate of warming and cooling is clearly very un-alarming no doubt to your great dismay!!
-
So ClimateChanger please show us what the Elkins, West Virginia average winter temperature was from 1250 through 1750 and how much different it is? We will wait since you highlight that site with how many years of data for the climate period of 100 to 1880 AD???
-
Only climate alarmists like our friend rcostell and others with that shared view will look at any of these numbers with fear. What they of course represent in reality are simple minor cyclical changes. Well that is unless you apply post hoc adjustments to cool the past but that of course does not cut it. I love the fear mongering of rcostell " climate change will make us all thirstier" blah blah blah. When will any true climate impact or event ever come to pass? When all else fails as he says just ignore the outliers....because he like many of the misled believe somehow this science is settled! of course it is far far from it! I will continue to post only the factual actual climate data for the county I live in. We have more NWS/MADIS sites than ever and if this our current warming cycle some how continues without end and ever shows some sort of scary warming or cooling....these stations will no doubt show that over the coming decades. Be patient my friends!!
-
Sure which is why we would never simply use those or any 5 individual stations in doing this kind of county wide analysis. For the complete view and analysis see the all station review below laid over those 3 newer stations with the most warming. We start with 1983 when the newest station Coatesville 2W came on line. As we would expect since much of the last 40 years are part of the current warming cycle the all station data shows some warming albeit very slight and nothing alarming.

Great weather to start the week as long as allergies are not a problem! We should see temps well into the 70's today and 80's tomorrow. Next shot at showers looks to be around Thursday. Chester County wide records for today: High 98 degrees at West Chester (1962) / Low 32 degrees also at West Chester (2002) / Rain 4.89" at Coatesville 1SW (1894)

After another 0.09" of rain yesterday here in East Nantmeal we are way above normal rainfall for the year and almost normal so far here in May. Great news for the local farmers! Today should see the sun returning at times with temps not too far from normal in the low to mid 70's. Sun from Monday through Wednesday with temps warming into the low 80's. Shower chances by Thursday before the sun returns with temps about normal for Memorial Day weekend. Records for today across Chester County: High 96 degrees at Phoenixville (1962) of note all 9 reported weather locations on that date in 1962 had highs between 93 and 96 degrees. Record cold was 33 degrees at Kennett Square 2S (2009) / Record rain was the 4.85" that fell in West Chester (1900). All 4 reporting locations that day recorded big rain totals with Phoenixville 4.72" / Coatesville 1SW 3.46" and Kennett Square 2.75"

Today looks to be our last chilly and dreary day with temps struggling to no higher than the mid 60's. The sun returns tomorrow. Our next chance of rain after today looks to be Wednesday night. Some lower spots could approach 80 degrees on Wednesday before we fall back to near normal temps around the mid 70's toward the Memorial Day Weekend! Chester County wide records for today: High 95 degrees on this date back in 1962 at Devault 1W, Coatesville 1SW and Phoenixville/ Record low occurred just last year with a 29.4 degree temperature in Warwick Township (2023) / Rain 2.68" at Marshallton (2015)
