  1. I think folks forget where we live....big storms are somewhat rare - except for the 1st 16 years of this century. I am convinced those snowy seasons made for many unrealistic expectations. That said if we get a general 2" to 4" event this weekend many will be near to above normal snowfall for the season....
  2. The ensembles on the GFS did increase by around an inch for our area.....
  3. We ended up with 2.8" of snow yesterday in East Nantmeal for the season we now stand at 6.1" which is 84% of normal snow to date. Windy today with some areas of blowing snow today (like on my road in Chesco). Dry through Friday with temperatures slowly moderating to within a couple of degrees of freezing. Snow chances increase on Friday night into Saturday, but this looks like no more than a moderate event despite what some are saying.

  6. With the 2.5" of snow "so far" today here in East Nantmeal Twp. We are now up to 3.0" for the month of January which is 2.1" above normal through today. For the season to date, we stand at 5.8" which is 79% of our normal snowfall to date of 7.3".

  8. 2.5" in NW burbs as we picked up 0.8" in heavy band between 10 and 1030am....verified the NWS 2" to 4" forecast.
  9. 2.5" with just flurries now here in East Nantmeal Township. Reported to NWS at 1130am
  10. That last band gave us 0.8" of snow in 30 minutes between 10am and 1030am - now up to 2.3" for the day. Still snowing steadily....but it appears the end is near.

  12. There were no 6" plus storms in Philly from 1967 till January 1978....now that was a true snow drought -today's youngins would not survive!!
