Some chances for showers and t-storms return late this PM but a better chance by Thursday into Thursday night. But not a washout as we should see some sun each day. Of note today the average temperature is 75.7 degrees - this is on average the warmest day of the calendar year. Beginning tomorrow we begin trending down in average temperatures reaching our coldest average day on January 21st at 24.6 degrees. Records for today: High 100 (1900) / Low 51 (1976) / Rain 2.61" (1903)

We received a total of 1.23" of rain over the weekend in East Nantmeal. A bit hazy again today thanks to our friends to the north. Temperatures will top out in the upper 80's for most of the county but humidity levels will be lower than yesterday. Rain chances increase again by later tomorrow and again on Thursday and Friday. Records for today: High 100.5 (1900) / Low 46 (1976) / Rain 1.81" (2018)

More storms are possible through early PM before lesser chances later today. Tomorrow looks to be pretty hot with temps reaching the upper 80's before somewhat cooler for the rest of the week. Records for today: High Temp 100 (1988) Low 46 (1929) / Rain 2.02" (1912)

Today in Chester County weather history back in 1988 we hit the 100 degree mark for the first time since 1966. Since 1988 we have hit the 100 degree mark only 1 time - that was on August 2, 2002. We have reached the century mark a total of 41 times since 1894. In the 40 years since observations began at elevations above 640 feet (1983) we have experienced only 2 such days. The decade with the most 100 degree days was the 1st decade of the 1900's with 13 days over 100 degrees! There were no 100 degree days recorded in the 1920's / 1970's / 1990's/ 2010's or so far in the 2020's. Not only will we not see a 100 degree day this month...I don't see any chances for a 90 degree day across most of the county during the rest of July. This will continue our streak of no 90+ days since June 30, 2021. Rain chances ramp up by tomorrow AM with some models showing 1.5" to 2" of rain. Records for today: High 100 (1998) Low 50 (1895) / Rain 1.76" (1926)

It looks like most of the 90 degree temps yesterday across Chester County were in the lower spots under 500 ft ASL. Muggy today with some showers and thunderstorms possible late this afternoon into tonight. Tomorrow looks like the driest day of the weekend before rain chances increase again for Sunday. Records for today: High 100 (1954) / Low 51 (1904) / Rain 2.98" (1928)

Yesterday was our 3rd straight slightly cooler than normal day...but temps the next 2 days should rise to above normal levels. We may even see a couple lower spots in the county hit 90 degrees. Some of the higher elevation spots have still yet to see a 90 degree day this summer. Philadelphia will today see their 7th such day. Rain chances increase by tomorrow night and at least a 50% chance of showers through much of the upcoming weekend. Records for today: High 96 (1936) / Low 48 (1945) / Rain 3.58" (2004)

It looks like a couple slightly above normal temp days are on tap for the area over the next couple of days. However, 90 degree plus temps look to yet again miss most of Chester County. Later tomorrow the weather looks to get a bit unsettled again with a good chance of showers and t-storms by Thursday night and chances continue through much of the upcoming weekend. Records for today: High 99 (1936) / Low 45 (1898) / Rain 2.09" (2009)

2.13" of rain so far here today in East Nantmeal Township setting a new daily rainfall record breaking the old record of 2.00" set back in 1935.
-
Could be a pretty stormy PM across much of the area. Hopefully spots that have already seen more than 5" of rain will not be as hard hit today. Rain should arrive in Chester County after 11am and be east of the county by no later than 7pm this evening. The daily rain record for today set back in 1935 could be in jeopardy today. Records for today: High 103 degrees (1936) / Low 48 degrees (1984) / Rain 2.00" (1935)
