Quick half inch of rain here with some close lightning. These were once routine summer storms, but convection is a scarce commodity these days.

My bedroom AC stays on about 20 hours a day now so that it's a comfortable temp when I go to bed. The 19th century windows are too tiny for anything bigger than about a 5000 BTU unit, which would be just about worthless to bring the 400 sqft space back down from 80F or so during the daytime. I turn it off for a few hours in the morning to avoid any issues with ice.

Just as a friendly clarification, we only get to enjoy the partial eclipse stage, albeit of a fairly deep magnitude. Annularity doesn't start until over the Ontario interior. It sounds pedantic, but it's the difference between the very cool "ring of fire" and just a pretty cool crescent shape. As for cloudcover, it seems the further north you are, the better. Most models show very slow drying from north to south on Wednesday night.

I briefly went down to 69 toward the end of the night, but it only lasted a few minutes.

Lots of thunder here from a storm that went up just a couple miles to my SE. Temp fell from 95 to 86 after the gust front blasted through

There's really no grandfather clause for that sort of thing? My '88 560SL has lost all climate control, which isn't critical because I only drive it on the best of the best weather days, but I do still have aspirations to get that system working again. Would it just need to be completely retrofitted?

Soared past 80F before 9am. Good old-fashioned scorcher incoming.

Someone will get a downpour on three straight days just by sheer chance and talk about how wet it's been, oblivious to the dust bowl unfolding around them. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Moisture looks very scattered to me until a more distinct shortwave approaches on Friday... and even that's a tenuous signal. I'd expect a pretty dry week for most spots. 93 for the high here, should verify a heat wave without much trouble
