Good to see rain continuing for western areas that didn't fare as well on Monday night. It's been dry here this morning with some breaks of sun.

Thirded. Heaviest showers of the daylight hours. That circulation south of BGM is really helping to wring out the remaining low-level moisture in the HV. Currently sitting at around 4.70"... wonder if I can touch 5".

Nifty little mesolow taking shape over me but the heavier echoes are pulling away now. Can also see radar rapidly filling in across PA as the second wave enters the lifting regime. It's a fun night of radar watching for the first time in a while.

Getting walloped here, 2". I still miss the old HPC SPENES discussions during events like this. This mesoscale enhancement east of the river would have been analyzed in great detail.

Epic drenching on the GFS. We take, but we lament that mowing will resume in earnest before winter.

This drought was likely the final blow for much of the forest there after several years of ash borer and hemlock adelgid havoc. Plenty of fuel for the next time a train's brakes get a bit too hot.

I think tomorrow would have been POU's 66th consecutive 80+ day if it hadn't topped out at 79 on 8/22. Annoys me to no end, lol.

I like this map showing land burned in the spring 1903 ADK complex. It doesn't look very impressive until you focus on a familiar point of interest like Lake Placid, then the scope sinks in a little. Makes our current troubles seem like a walk in the park.

Currently the heaviest rain of the day, and it isn't particularly heavy. Maybe this shower will push me over one tenth for the event. -
It looks like POU maxed out at 79 before the rain started, ending the 80+ streak after 54 days.
