  1. Black ice every morning this week will present its own challenges for some. Throw on some powder wed morning = fun commute.
  2. NAM coming in hot for wed. Temps in the 20s, precip arrives early and is exiting by 8/9am.
  3. Your Friday front just won’t go away on guidance. Gotta reel that one in.
  4. Low of 13 imby. WCs at or below 0 this morning.
  5. Dude.....its snow. Its not that serious. Certainly doesnt warrant anything like.....spare me the....lol. don't take things so seriously and just enjoy life. Also, based on the distribution of this subs membership, last January's 6-12 DID hit thr majority of this board.
  6. Its like 15 degrees outside and there were 75k in attendance for the outdoor hockey game between penn state and Michigan state today in state college. That's pretty cool
  7. Current ob: enjoying the pack at 21 degrees.
  8. Lol…now you’re just making things up. You do recall that not only did many get 6+ before the flip to sleet last Sunday, a good chunk of the area had a 6-12 powder hit last January, too.
  9. I walked across it this morning wheeling my recycling bin around for collection and my big ass didn't penetrate it at all.
  10. They’re under a WSW for 5-8 that will start melting tomorrow. Enjoy your glacier from the 8” that Frederick reported less than a week ago.
  11. Low of 7 for MBY. -27 at Canaan NWR
  12. Deep winter feel up here in state college this evening. Down to 10 and heading below 0.
  13. 13/14 finished strong. BWI doubled climo and Dulles surpassed 50".
  14. This last storm was such a unique combo of things all at once for this area. And the slow recovery....especially for those that got both the front thump and maxed out on sleet....is wild to witness. I think it may have been WxUSAF that put it best....our area relies of post storm melting to help w recovery a d there's none of that this time and as a result, local gvt is struggling.
  15. Fair point but I also don't believe this cold was supposed to be historic in terms of crazy record lows as much as it was for its duration. From that respect, it has delivered. Many away from the metro areas will likely near or surpass 2 weeks at or below freezing. Heck, based on current guidance, some may hit 3 weeks.
  16. AIGFS would result in some having a winter thaw w well above avg temps as we get into the 2nd week of February. Seems to be on its own attm.
  17. Looks like the low for MBY will be 6. Tipton hit 1.
  18. The globals….especially the GFS and Euro are really dead set on keeping us in this cold pattern. We barely get above freezing thru mid February. Now, the AIGFS really wants to start pumping the SE ridge after next week and gets us to a winter thaw….or areas just to our south…so we’ll have to see how it plays out. CPC also likes chances of continued BN temps on the EC centered over NE.
  19. Its creeping south along the bay
  20. They are playing ice hockey on one of the aa co ponds near me.
