  1. What a dumb record. Not to mention Wind chill values were adjusted to account for new metrics for wind chill.
  2. Oh yeah...wasn't trying to beat my chest or anything, just something I noticed and I saw come up with some energy Mets. It's interesting for sure. But, I don't think it explains why we have been absolutely bent over from a temp and snow point of view this season. This is quite an enigma to me.
  3. 12z GFS was about the same as 00z. If anything Friday is a little colder. This may be a functioning of this moving in a wee bit quicker.
  4. I mentioned this last week regarding the MJO. This year, the cold phases were phases 3-5. The warmer phases that torched us, especially regarding the PAC jet, were the typical cold phases. 8-2. Nor sure why, but pattern recognition was important to help identify cold shots.
  5. I’m actually surprised. Probably not far from an inch at home.
  6. Yeah I mean getting near 480 thicknesses on an op run versus 490 on an ensemble… It’s really kind of silly to claim failure. We’ll see what guidance does today.
  7. Or, and I know this can be shocking, it kind of went towards the ensembles? Those didn’t change much overnight.
  8. As Dick Albert used to say…. M.O.T.S More Of The Same.
  9. Good. Unfortunately it’s probably a difference of -8 vs -5 lol. But yeah warm it up Chris. I’m all set with this crap and bare ground.
  10. The 80s always felt like two things for me. It was either a cape winter or west and north of 128 deal.
  11. Just massive frost canyons developing when the ground freezes and thaws. Ginxy lets 10 dogs out to go poo and only 5 come back, swallowed by the Earth.
  12. Some chilly air coming up prior though. Ground won't be that warm.
  13. Usually in these torch winter months we have some big time warm days. The thing about this month...it's just been continuously mild, especially at night.
  14. It's March basically. Between the temps, plants coming up, and birds happily chirping like it's late March...this is what it's been like. It's insane. It's not like we have had days in the 60s. Just mild with zero cold at all.
  15. Coldest I've ever been in, was around -30 in Bartlett NH back in 94. That was interesting. Just pure radiational cooling.
  16. Reality just makes weather stuff seem so trivial though. I wish I could spend my energy being mad at weather like others can. But life is reality.
