That is an awful map. I understand it is difficult to capture all the variations, but a little detail would help instead of just blanketing the whole area in one color. Look at the ranges within the shade of blue/grey. You could try to add some detail in there IMO in the higher spots.

I would just like to see less of a black hole across Greenland as that has been killing the east over the last two seasons. If we get North Pac ridging (west of the PNA domain) that's usually when the cold charges into the Plains and the response more often than not, are for lows to move into NY state. Not always the case, but a little confluence to the north would really help. Pacific is always King, but a little help from the Atlantic Queen of Greenland would be nice.

Pretty mild to warm from now through Sunday. Probably some near to low 80s in spots. Especially Sunday.

Looks like the front is a few days faster than I thought for early October. Still troughy in the Midwest with a front close by. We watch for homebrew. Definitely looks like a few wetter periods between early next week and beyond to start October.

Even 12’ at BOS harbor. That’s impressive given the winds. If this came west and backed in towards the cape.....yowzers.

We’ll see. I think some areas of New England will get a good drink. Of course some areas will get screwed, but I think that trough will last into and maybe last day 10...so enough looking at just Monday or Tuesday. Got to look beyond that. Looks fine to me. If you are only happy with nothing less than 2-4” of rain, I salute you.

Went down to Marshfield to check out the waves. I saw channel 4 there with some helicopters flying overhead. The wave heights were fairly impressive for winds being almost offshore and not terribly strong. Some minor flooding.

12Z GFS was a soaker next week. Like I said...timing is going to be an issue. You can't go by every model run verbatim. Look at the big picture. Trough to the west.

Is there still a correlation to Oct NAO and winter values? I feel like it wasn't that high IIRC.
