Fzra here and 30f transitioned to 29F and all sleet which now has transitioned to 29F and sleet/snow mix.

That's what's going on up here. Varying intensity means varying p-types...

At 825' here in the Schuylkill County coal region, I have light sleet, so the warm air at the upper levels is already here to the northwest of you guys.
-
Whatever is falling here(sleet/graupel) is very fine and light, but it really isn't pure snowflakes anymore...
-
If there was really supposed to be heavy at times snow, as CTP's forecast at one point mentioned, we never saw it in far eastern Schuylkill County. Just woke up and took a 5:00am measurement (it's been snowing since 10:00pm last night) and I only have 1.4 inches from round 2. It's still snow and no mix, but it's quite light, and must have been for most, if not all, of the overnight hours..
-
The lightest of snow just started here, so round 2 appears to be getting underway in the Skook.
-
I got a half inch out of phase 1 which all melted off through the day. Now to see what phase 2 gives us up here. Point and click gives me 2-4 overnight and 2-4 tomorrow.

thanks for the welcome as i said in the other forum to me all my life PA was the Mid Atlantic Not sure when it changed lol. but yeah the radar look way more juiced then it was called for and temps being below forecast could be a good front end thump.
Welcome, Ruin. I am the resident warmanista of the forum, largely due to my career as a commercial driver, but I do like snow when it's a big event. That being said, kick off your shoes and spend your time with us. We may not be as active as those in the forum to the south of us, but we are friendlier!

Driving down route 70 to BWI this morning and all roads are Pre-treated and powdery white including 195 the feeder road to the airport. That is always a good sign for the LSV if those southern boys think a cutter is going to give them road issues way down here. Of course they have to worry about tonight's snow as well.
I don't know if it's a money issue or what, but up here in Schuylkill County, Penndot stopped spraying the roads about 10 years ago. In Allentown city, on the other hand, they spray EVERYTHING. Main roads, side streets, back alleys, you name it. I was surprised when I saw it.

Between this comment and our Turnpike-living friend discussing his Friday “Fear and Loathing In Central PA” activities I’m officially confused.
Haha...I knew I'd get you guys wondering. I was waiting for someone to ask "who posted this and what did you do to Voyager?"

Haha...I had to do a double take at this! You must be headed west.
Yessir. Going out to Phoenix for a visit with my mom from the 23rd to the 2nd...

Hopefully the final week of February torches the west and allows for cold in the east.

good. seriously the rain is driving me to drink. My yard is a swamp.

Well, snow isn't going to help out the swampy conditions any. Snow melts...lol
What we need is an extended dry pattern for a few weeks.

There is still a train of storms showing up in the long range. If we can get one coming from the S/W to ride the front/boundary instead of of digging we will be in business for a special event.
Not for nothing, but hearing about an "train of storms" is not music to my ears, be it snow OR rain. Since last mid July, it's been nothing but stormy around these parts with some form of precipitation for what seems to be 2-3 days per week. I, for one, would love to see a bit of some drought-like conditions set up for awhile as I need a break from all this moisture, I feel like an old wooden pier growing barnacles...

Hit 62 this afternoon in Tamaqua according to my weather app. Quite impressive after being -1 on Saturday morning.

It's 46 absolutely beautiful, wonderful degrees here in Tamaqua!!!
-
At least it's 21 (I have the same temp here) and not -5, like the past few nights. I finally was able to use my washer fluid in the Jeep. The past few days it was frozen solid...
-
So I'm sitting here in Lancaster at Thaddeus Stevens College and it's colder here (27F) than it is at home in Tamaqua (31F).
Go figure. I hate cold so it follows me...lol
-
Three straight nights with lows below zero.
Thurs: -9
Fri: -9
Sat: -1 as of 6:00am
Pretty impressive!

Finally getting a chance to read the forum as I sit here watching the skiers at Blue Mountan near Palmerton. The wife brought me supper as she works not far from here. Her car thermometer showed 11 degrees. I saw some flurries today in Tamaqua/Hazleton, but that was it. Glad some of you got a nice little event today.
-
Tied yesterday's low temp of -9 sometime after midnight. Now currently -7 at 6:00am.

You might have a shot at breaking it if the clouds hold off for a few more hours. My winds completely went calm again and I've dropped 2 degrees in the past 20 minutes, down to 3.9. Would love to hit zero again after midnight to have two days in a row with sub zero lows. I don't know how close the clouds are to us right now. Hope you reach -10.
By breaking it, you mean negative double digits right? I'm at negative 6 right now. As much as I don't like cold, I'm hoping for -10 or lower. It would only be the third time in my life experiencing negative 10 or lower.
-
While most areas are a bit warmer than last night, we are colder. Down to -6 already.

I've gone from 28 to 30 over the past few hours, but with heavy drizzle, ice is really starting to accrete here. I'm going to have an interesting drive to Mt Airy Casino in Mt Pocono tomorrow morning if we don't get above freezing.
