Lots of cell activity around Tamaqua, but not a drop or a rumble yet today.

One of the most insane PWS's I've checked out today was in Whitehall Township near Northampton in the Lehigh Valley...

93/75 here now with a heat index of 103. Pretty uncommon to be so warm AND humid up in my region...

I’m at 93F/75F.
Heat index 105F.90/72 for a heat index of 98 at my house. I decided that since it's so hard to get a good storm in my backyard that I would get mine and my wife's Jeeps washed. I figure that will insure that we get a good rainer today.

squall line looks to be aoa dinner time tomorrow per mesos. Like loostoe said it looks like the dynamics should be right for some and the line looks to be 40 N kinda deal per 12k, but 3k looks a bit more S w/ best dynamics. Being this close to the game, that doesnt inspire much confidence for the where, but the when looks like we should all plan on indoor dining for supper.
Thanks! Indoor supper is already planned. The wife and I are taking a good friend out to dinner at the Tamaqua Train Station Restaurant tomorrow night.

Probably considering the location of the fr boundary and timing of significant afternoon heating ( mid 90s +)
and with high pwats 2+ inches and multiple cell cluster rounds I'd think flash flooding will be achieved locally.
But where? Area wide, or localized to the LSV, Mason-Dixon Line, Lancaster area, etc.

Need to get that Harrisburg cluster up to Tamaqua before it fades into oblivion...
I don't like the look of future radar, though.

I doubt we see anything at all today. It's a northern tier kind of day.
We got something before I got home from work because I had 0.44" in the gauge.

Soon Pillow will be Americanwx vacation destination! There are no hotels in Pillow, but there is a campground at the end of town
Up until March when I started this Tower City to Sunbury water haul, I had never even heard of Pillow. Now I'm through there seven times per week...lol.
It actually looks nice and peaceful. I think I'd rather live there than Tamaqua.

With emissions improvements and whatever else, we don't get the "Hazy" part of the trio like we used to. Even on our exceptionally hot and humid days, the sky is still blue. Back in the 70s and 80s the sky would be a milky white, and in the early evening the sun would often be filtered in the western sky. Just doesn't have that vibe anymore.
As I get older, I get more and more nostalgic. I kind of miss the 3 H summer days of my youth...

HRRR is insistent, for many runs, on a late evening line of storms forming along the M/D line...for the Southern team.
I've been swing and a miss for two days now. Need some t-storm love for the Skook...

We are still solid overcast and even fog on the top of the Blue Mountain on 309. We need to clear, and fast, for anything significant to happen later, but I'm not feeling it for areas east of 81 and south of 80 right now.
This is what it's like here right now at 3:30pm.

That was quite the line. Paw Paw was the southern terminus on some crazy weather.
I didn't see much wind damage out there, or in the Danville/Berwick area in my travels today.

So I ended up with 0.88" for last night's event. This after an inch and a half on Friday. Whatever we get today will fall on saturated ground so flash flooding I guess will be a concern later today and tonight.

Family is on vacation, so I have no idea how hard the Danville/Bloomsburg area got hit. Looked like a bow echo moving through there...
That's part of my route tomorrow morning as well. If I see any damage, I'll let you know.

We got the goods...sort of. I believe the line weakened some at it got here as there was a continuous lightning/thunder event to my west, but as it neared, the lightning became more infrequent.
We never (to this point anyway) got the instantaneous flash/boom that I so desperately crave. Wind toped out at 12.5 mph, and so far, with the heaviest rain east of me already, got 0.67" as of this post.
On to the next one some other day I suppose...
***edited to add that the radar looked really good as it passed through, but it didn't seem to correlate with ground truth***

Current movement and future radar loops don't look super promising for me. It appears that anything that holds together scoots by to my north and northwest. Hazleton might get it pretty good though. If that's the case, I'll once again be on the outside looking in...

I'll tell you, I honestly think the best events come when there are no watches or warnings or hype. It just does what it does. Everytime it's hyped up in my area, all I get is a letdown because it either failed to materialize, weakened, or split.
And future radar seems to want to point in that direction. Most of the activity is depicted to parallel I-81 and fringe my area, with just residual leftover showers behind it.
