3.02" of rain in Tamaqua yesterday.
-
Good amount of rain, some wind (but calm at the moment), and some flashes of thunder is about it so far.

I'm not sure how much lightning there will be but what do I know. Troll me hard if there is. This seems like a torrential downpour/high wind event and hopefully nothing else. (spin ups)

"
A line of severe thunderstorms is expected to cross Central Pennsylvania, roughly between 5 and 10 pm. Some areas will see damaging wind gusts of 60 to 80 mph along this line of storms. Given how strong the winds are in the lower levels of the atmosphere, isolated tornadoes are also a possibility.
I was just about to post this. Pretty ominous statement out of CTP this afternoon.

This is the setup I want and dream about to happen in January.
Yup. Pure 100% whiteout!

Every model (globals and mesos) show the squall line with the FROPA. It should be interesting when it blows through...

How do they deal with that if it is down pouring? Move to another day? In some areas of the country they only holds trick or treat on a certain day of the week regardless where Oct 31 falls.
Most (including Tamaqua) in my area moved trick or treat to Friday or Saturday.

Got about 1.35" of rain since yesterday noontime. Another nice soaking. Wish I'd have seeded my whole yard instead of just the bare spots. The recent rain and mild temps have really allowed the new grass so grow and mature before winter sets in.

way off topic, but nothing is happening with weather. have any of you tried the Yuengling/Hershey Beer? I enjoyed it, though i wouldn't sit around and drink a bunch of them. I like it better then the Sweet baby Jesus.
I just had one tonight after supper, and I liked it, but like you said, not a beer to be drinking a bunch of at one time. My wife took a sip and you should have seen her face...lol. She would have made the Keystone bitter beer commercial actors proud!!!

Dry out here in Pittsburgh...

Had 1.2" yesterday. Winds aren't quite what I expected, but the direction for once isn't one where it hits the broadside of my house so it could be deceptive.
The rain was much appreciated. Too late to recover a pretty leaf change unfortunately.
My ride down I-81 to Granville would argue differently...lol

Looks like a big old dry slot per the models for true CPA with this upcoming Wednesday event...

Is anyone else grinning ear-to-ear with this weather? Beautiful sunny day around 60 yesterday, today a rainy mid 60s day and a soaker coming tomorrow for the first time in a few months,
Nope...

Frost on car tops in Tamaqua.

Hey nut, can you edit the thread title to add Central PA to it? Otherwise it could be mistaken for an Upstate NY or Pittsburgh thread.

Other than rip currents, it appears that the sea will be fairly calm down in Cape May this weekend. Tomorrow is likely to be the swim day and this is the ocean forecast...
SundayS wind 7 to 12 kt. Sunny. Seas 1 ft or less. -
All I know is it's this morning in Hazleton where I start my work day. Temp is 42 degrees as I type this...

It was 48 when I started my Jeep this morning...

Also the waves are going to be firing. Forecast as of now (for ocean city) is 11.5ft @ 15 seconds with offshore winds Fri morning. Remaining at 6-8ft @ 13+ seconds through sat evening. That means 12+ft faces at the right break.
I was wondering about the waves. They were pretty rough when I was down in OCMD as Dorian moved northeast. So much so that our after dinner sunset cruise stayed in the marina and back bay instead of going out in the Atlantic up the beach like it normally does.
One of the things I wanted to do was take the ferry over to Lewes, but it may be a recipe for a seasick wife if the seas are that rough...

Heading to Cape May this weekend for a little three day beach vacation. The forecast (at this point) is just absolutely stellar!!!

Sounds like your kind of day though at least!
It was. I wonder if it had anything to do with downsloping, though.
Mag?

Nice cool, grey day out today. It's gorgeous!
Not if you were in SWPA (Pittsburgh area). I took a PSU soccer team out there for a game in Pleasant Hills, and the gray drizzlies ended as I was coming down off the Laurels, and it was sunny and 86 out there during the afternoon...

We had a solid 2 hours of moderate to heavy rain from 8 to 10 last night. I was surprised.
