  1. I just went through the whole flying thing. I was supposed to fly to Houston for job orientation, but the Chicago snow cancelled all flights into my O'Hare connection. Then the snow here finished it off. I'm hoping to go this weekend, but haven't yet heard from the employer.
  2. Agreed. I don't need a polar vortex with 15 degree highs and -5 lows. Seasonal is just fine with me...
  3. It sure did. The 21 inches in my yard looks like about 15 now.
  4. @Cashtown_Coop check out this video. You should recognize the area.
  5. So I measured 21.5" for the storm total here at 6:30am. It appears to be done as nothing but flurries are falling at the moment, and we only got another inch during the overnight hours since my last measurement.
  6. Out of forum, but since it was discussed earlier, check out these Lehigh Valley totals...so far. Lehigh County... 7. Unless I'm radar hallucinating, it almost looks like dry air is attacking the region on two fronts. One from the south and one from the northwest. The snow has lightened considerably here though during the last hour, so maybe it's real. Future radar builds it back, so I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. I did hit the semi-magical 20 inch mark, however. Not sure if I'll get the 24 inch holy grail, though.
  8. Old school friend who lives there measured 21.2" a little bit ago.
  9. Whomever said that some parts of New Jersey might see 3 ft of snow may end up being correct. Morris, Somerset, and Sussex Counties all have locations at or above 20 inches already...
  10. 14 inches and counting... Probably getting the heaviest snow of the storm so far, and if future radar is correct, that band from the Poconos down through Reading should back into here soon.
  11. I never saw this one before. Never mind a snow emergency, we went right to a disaster declaration...
  12. Thanks, I am. I got some good video, including getting blasted with snow from a passing train...
  13. Thanks, I am. I got some good video, including getting blasted with snow from a passing train...
  14. Just measured 11 inches here. Now it's time to take a GoPro walk and see what the rest of the town looks like. Just about every road in and out of town is closed on the hills. PA 309 in and out from Hometown and West Penn PA309 on the Blue Mountain, PA443 in from Hamburg/New Ringgold, US209 from the east, etc.
  15. This is a Facebook post from the neighboring Lansford Police Department. I don't know who their weather source is, but if they are right, since we already have about 10 inches, there is a POTENTIAL to see 30 inches here...
  16. Which model quite a few times showed the Allentown to Reading corridor down through Bucks County as a jackpot zone? Looking at radar and future radar, it appears that area is going sit under a death band and get smoked...
  17. Just got in from shoveling the 9 inches we got so far, and it was a bit heavier than I would have thought, so it seems to have a high moisture content. Snowing moderately to heavy with about 1/4 mile visibility.
  18. I think most of us hobbyists fall victim to going all in on the big totals the models depict, then turning into Negative Nancy's when they back off or we see a bad run. It's part of the game. Of course knowledgeable mets can tone it down or shut it off. Bottom line, it's normal, and there is no need to apologize for it...
  19. Looks like another 10"+ for nearly all of York County on both the NAM and the 3k.
  20. Yeah, I hope so. Right now were back to a fine, pixie dust type snow. Hopefully everything fills back in and we rip again.
  21. Thanks! I'm hoping you and the rest of the guys and gals out that way do as well. Hopefully the storm has some surprises in it...
  22. If it snows like this most of the day, the totals around here are going to be impressive.
