Its largely due to social media IMHO....its fostering an increased proclivitry towards iimpulsivity and instant gratification, which is inimical to critical thinking and conducive to an increased tendency to make perfunctory judegements.
@40/70 Benchmark I think @Typhoon Tip stole your login info.

By the way the New England forum is the best forum (followed by the Mid Atlantic) for learning about synoptics. I only wish Tip would explain the weather in terms I could understand. Lol
you aren't alone with that wish.

November - wrong.
December - wrong.
January - wrong.
But read my free $hit at blogspot.
Can't forecast for $hit but don't worry he'll be sure to tell you he's wrong. You can count on that. What a service.
he's a fucking hobbyist, not a pro-met, you pretentious douche.
hey, by the way, how did your long-term winter forecast work out?

i snowmobile up there once or twice a year, and yes there is always tons of snow especially up by the wind tower. And that guy is right, that steep trail is no joke, it can be a difficult ride up (or even down).
a couple years a group of us were heading up that steep trail, and there was a groomer heading down. there is no way to get by, so we all had to turn around and go back down. that was "fun".

It has been a non winter, +5 AN with well below normal snow here. My area doesn’t do well in strong and super ninos. The strength of the El Niño -PDO, and well AN Atlantic SSTs (especially bad news for the coastal plain) were overlooked. It’s not overcompensation, it’s telling it like it is. I do think next winter will be a more favorable pattern here though, should be another La Niña rather than this strong nino crap. I do think big winters are still on the table even with CC, but this just isn’t our year. It is what it is, it looked like it might become good a couple weeks ago but that didn’t pan out.
it’s fucking January 17 you clown

roads around MHT and up to CON are bad. highway traffic going no more than 30.
-
hearing sleet hitting the windows at my office near MHT. I am surprised it has gotten this far.
-
about an inch down, fluffy stuff. roads are starting to get greasy

it's easy to tell who on here wasn't around in the 80's. that was the time when Every. Single. Storm tainted. Didn't matter how far inland or north you were (outside of NNE of course).

I’m usually underwhelmed by squalls. not this one, very impressive. Just lightened up, but another round not far away on radar
and right on cue, pounding again. Not much wind to speak of

Yeah most didn’t get that much but maybe a few spots in the berks and Litchfield hills. But a widespread 2-4” over interior SNE. The event weakened a little as it approached the coast so they were more like C-1”
well to be fair, if it didn’t happen in AEMATT, it probably didn’t happen at all

3k is basically no snow here. Another inch of water incoming.
yeah it’s certainly been dry.
Meanwhile, the mighty Merrimack is running really high, has been for weeks. another inch of rain plus snowmelt might cause some issues
Monitoring the 29th/30th for significant impact coastal redevelopment - confidence only medium for now but is trending favorably.
