Yep, 1st threat looks more minor to moderate with the second threat having major nor’easter/blizzard potential. It isn’t just the Euro OP, eps, gefs, and geps have a signal as well.
you just can't help yourself, can you?

i don't know why you guys have not put qq on ignore yet. it makes reading the threads better.

Wow.. this forum is dysfunctional.
All we see is attacks on everyone thoughts of what we could see. It's all negative. Not a setting that makes for a good forum or a decent discussion.
Also.. I though we had a separate thread for Winter Banter? It all seems to be in the January discussion ( or any strom thread we create ).
Lastly, why in the hell do we allow the few members that post just to antagonize to be able to post at all? Isn't their a moderator that can block that?
Trust me.. many of you guys and gals on here are great. We all get frustrated that the Winter has been pretty sad as of late. But... Don't you guys get tired of the banter and also the negative posts that we are seeing. Let's just see what happens with the upcoming few months. It is far from over. Even if we have a 2-3 week period like we had last year towards February, isn't that worth something?
you must be new here, because it’s been like that for the entirety of this forum’s existence

was outside earlier with just a sweatshirt. got the fire pit going as the temp dropped to 40ish. got a little chilly but the pine firewood warmed it up a bit. After multiple beers it was time to wrap it up and come back inside

That makes no sense. Great winters always include snowy Dec
while i am inclined to generally agree, as with all things there are outliers. I can disprove "always"-twice in the last 12 years
Dec 2014 i had 6". ended up with over 100"
Dec 2010 i had 9", ended up with over 90"

Sorry, I just feel like I spend all of this time articulating my thoughts on the season in one package, and then people read waaay too much into what I post in casual dialogue on a chat forum. Mostly Raindance, but I guess I projected that frustration onto you a bit.
I'm probably most nervous about my February thoughts....any official SSW would be a deviation from the expected, so hopefully it occurs early in January.
no sweat man. I was just giving you shit. i just thought your post was oddly worded, but after reading it and your response, I get the gist of what you were saying. if I read it right, what you mean is that you expect the remainder of this season to be play out similar to 2010-2011, with less snow.

That is not below normal in most area, first of all.
Secondly, I feel like I have been detailed enough with respect to my thoughts regarding this season.
damn, you beat me to my edit. 2010-2011 took a while to get rolling up here, not much until 1/12. but ended up decently AN (90". BUT, again up here, take away 20-30", and you get 60-70", which is a 10" BN to 10" AN
yes I know you have been detailed in your outlook, i have read it.

last time i had this little snow (7") through the end of December:
2021-2022 8.5", season ended up solidly BN
2015-2016 4.5", season ended up a complete R.A.T.
2011-2012 5", another R.A.T
2010-2011 10", season ended up being decent, kicked off with a good storm on 1/12

I think we could still see 2010-2011 totals minus 20-30" or so...
isn't there a better way of saying that? 2010-2011 minus 20-30" is a BN winter in most areas. so rather than compare it to 2010-2011, which is what you did, compare it to a BN season like, I don't know, 2021-2022?

Noticed that sun angle creeping up already this AM around 6, and now this afternoon!
yeah I am sure you could really tell the difference between the 21st and 26th:
Dec 21: 1.71 degrees
Dec 26: 2.10 degrees
That extra 0.39 degrees I am sure makes a big difference
for reference, the sun angle on June 26 is 35.24 degrees

Any Concord area weenies with a weather radio? We can't reach Plausawa Hill transmitter (162.4) and we're hearing rumors that the tower itself might have come down in the winds. Can anyone hear audio on that frequency?
