Stupid idea to get a thread going for tonight's fun? The winter wx is mostly where people don't live, but for those of us who do, worth it?

I had the same cab on my JD. i got tired of how the snow sticks to the plastic windshield, so I just sold it. it is a great concept, and does keep you warm and mostly dry. But it really sucks when you can't see out the front window.

    Halloween 11.

Then there was the 59-0 Pats game on 10/18/09 in the accumulating snow in his area.

that 10/18/09 event triggered me. Was nothing more than a rain/snow mix with no accumulation here. then I got home and flipped on the Pats game, I was like WTF! First, WTF is all the white stuff on the field? And second, WTF is with the score!?!?!

2hr delay for school tomorrow...is it just me or does that seem ridiculous? New superintendent being overly cautious perhaps.

    not ridiculous

it was actually a good call. the roads were actually quite icy this morning with the sleet/snow mixed in, even down here.

A few puffs on the chair or a couple hits of the flask might be contributing factors to not walking in skiboots on the stairs.............

last winter I tripped UP the stairs heading to the bar for apres ski. new boots and tired legs were primary contributing factors

why can’t you just have a reasonable take without going balls to the wall? i agree that Dec is likely +1-3, but why not just say that instead

He lives for this ... He just waits for the new season to stir the pot. Something is wrong with him, nothing was done last year and nothing will be done this year. Just need to laugh at the poor guy

I don’t think he really cares that much -I mean it’s almost like shooting fish in a barrel  - just constantly getting emotion out or folks and he doesn’t even have to try that that hard .  Last year he was on a roll given how almost every 10-15 day prog warmed up as we got inside 7 days and he just went on parade weekly Saying how the warm anomaly’s would win out and how this And that 10-15 day  prog was not Gonna verify and In reality **we were in a Very consistent pattern The models struggled with and usually corrected in the same direction over and over as SW heights were modeled to warm at day 10-15 out west and vice versa usually for SNE ** . I had never seen such a pattern where models were generally correcting one way for such a long period and that is not going to happen This year in all likelihood **

He sniffs out and preys on snow (or lack there of) fears and usually 90% of responses to him are due to irritation with the amount of snow folks have seen or are concerned will see .

If people are bothered by December looking hostile he will get rolling lol

the ignore button is your friend. he is the only poster I have ever ignored here. he brings zero value to the forum.

Yeah.  For big projects gas is def the way to go.   But is your lawn itself 5 acres?   That’s huge.   My property is around 3 but a lot of it is woods.

main lawn is just about 1 acre. most of the other 4 acres is woods, but there is a field of about 1/2 acre, with grass trails leading to it that I have to mow (to keep the ticks down).

Mine's too big to go all electric too but I have an electric for the trim and nooks and crannies, works well. How long does it take you to mow?

mowing the main lawn takes about an hour and a half. doing the whole thing, trimming, mowing main lawn, and mowing out back takes about 3 hours. I also have to trim parts of the out back that is thickly weeded. Goldenrod, ferns, woody ferns, blueberries, etc. I trim the parts adjacent to the field, as i have a fire pit back there.

I hope not. I'm tired of shitty springs and it not getting hot until July and we get like 7 weeks of summer. After March 15 I'm ready for 70's and by April 15 give me 80's, May give me 90's and by June pound me with 100's. Oh and high humidity by April too.

not happening, James. You need to move several hundred miles south if that is your expectation.

December isn't even that much of a winter month if you're near the coast. SE MA averages like 6" in December and close to 20" in Jan and Feb each. Mar is closer to 10" as well

at least Ninos maximize the months that are already good instead of Ninas where you wreck your best month

it is a winter month up here-but massive variability: average 17" in December over 20 years. and Dec snowfall does not predict winter in any way. last 5 Decembers:

    2018: 4", below normal winter

2019: 29", way below normal winter

    2020: 32", below normal winter

2021: 9", way below normal winter

2022: 6", just above average winter
