  1. welcome to 2023 where everything you read on the internet is fact and legit sources are behind a conspiracy.
  2. that blows for the paying customer. I had the opposite on Weds. started out the day with nice firm conditions with perfectly groomed trails. after lunch it got a little soft, then by 2pm when it was 50, it got mushy and not so fun. left a little early, but had a freebie ticket so I shan't complain
  3. are the geese pooping on your head? I like the if followed by the ? so you are 100% sure on how this is going to play out. Noted.
  4. that mushy slush is going to freeze up solid on the slopes. scary stuff
  5. that's not how it works. peepers have brains the size of the head of a pin. they can't see anything coming. But what happens is they come out when the ice melts and the water/mud warms up a bit. nothing predictive about that. I have had peepers in my yard come out only to have more snow and cold-it happens almost every year. they don't know shit.
  6. pretty amazing that it is so dry there-seriously. up here things are pretty wet, lots of ground water/mud where there isn't snow cover, streams running, etc. heck, my way back yard down by the stream is still frozen solid with about 8+" pack. going to be a while since that area doesn't get a lot of sun
  7. not going to beat a dead horse, and I agree with you. but see my point #2 above.
  8. yeah, the Denali's are sweet, but at ~$15k above what I paid, ain't happenin' for me. 1. many of their posts relate to their area specifically, yet they try to shoehorn it in. 2. they come in here and argue with each other and/or troll each other. This does not apply to ALL out of area posters, just the few who fuck it up.
  9. the new Sierras are super nice. I have a 2021 Sierra Elevation. Love it, and decent MPG. i average around 21 mpg, roughly 50/50 hiway/city
  10. that was Captain Hyperbole (DIT) https://www.americanwx.com/bb/forum/11-new-york-city-metro/
  11. thanks for making me spit out my half-chewed salad all over my keyboard
  12. how about interior CNE? i average like 2" in Novie. most (~90%) are 0-2", and of course there are a couple outliers with a bigger storm, but those are few and far between. Novie is NOT a winter month.
  13. I can't even stay awake for 65 straight hours, nevermind skiing for that long. f*** that!
  14. I sure am FGIDLT https://www.americanwx.com/bb/forum/11-new-york-city-metro/ https://www.americanwx.com/bb/forum/25-philadelphia-region/ https://www.americanwx.com/bb/forum/12-mid-atlantic/
  15. now that's my kind of ride (except i prefer a much smaller group)
  16. pack is melting out quickly here near MHT. temp only 43, but sun just broke throuhg the fog
  17. that's my point. IDGAF if it rains, snows, or there is a meteor strike in NY/NJ. that these clowns continue to post in the NE subforum pretty much defeats the purpose of subforums. are the NE posters supposed to go to the NY NJ subforum and brag about having more snow? Last i knew that was frowned upon by the establishemnt. I already have some of them on ignore, and the list is growing.

  19. i heard the same thing yesterday morning and had the same thought-spring birds, whatever they are
  20. when the headline is "xx city had the warmest month on record!!!" that's the problem I am talking about because it is due to bad data
  21. 100% chance that little blue bullseye right over Taunton, MA verifies.
  22. calibrating an instrument that is used to measure to the tenths to +2/-2 is ridiculous. i know nothing about weather instruments, but know a little about scientific instruments, and can say for certain that that standard is just wrong. it should be like +0.5/-0.5 at worst. not to mention how much a 2.0 degree error can skew the whole CC argument one way or the other.
