I could have sworn that we were told from August 12 through mid September there would be high dews non-stop. I look forward to verification scores on that call

I just want it to be dry between 6:00 an 8:00 tomorrow evening so I can get 9 holes of golf in. Is that asking too much?

No, I was talking about New England. Literally right above that Twitter link, I had posted the NCEI data for July 2023 showing it was the hottest month on record in New England (dating to 1895). The Twitter link showed it was also the most humid month on record for New England (dating to 1940), according to the ERA-5 reanalysis. How could the hottest and most humid month on record, not be properly described as intense heat? Obviously, when I said "intense heat" I meant relative to normal for New England. It might not be intense compared to Florida or Arizona, but it was literally as hot and as humid as you can possibly get in New England based on historical averages.
yeah, you're not in New England, are you? Because we we had in July was very humid with warm mins. Not one single poster here (aside from maybe DIT) would characterize this past July as intense heat. i mean, I had 5 days at 90 or above, which is perfectly normal for my neck of the woods in New England

Compounding the intense heat, dewpoints were also at record levels for the month, resulting in an amplified increase to the apparent temperature.
when was the intense heat? not this past July

Can I hose down a car engine? My wife’s bronco has mud all up in the engine from going through construction zones. I’d like to just hose it off
people power wash their engine compartments all the time. Just be sure not to spray any water directly into the air intake (which would be almost impossible unless you removed the filter).
think of it this way: when you are driving in the rain, all that road spray goes up into the engine compartment from underneath. Same way the mud got there. If they couldn't get wet, they would be in an enclosed compartment.

Run an extension cord and use a shop vac on the ground bees . Thump on the ground to get em to all come out. No need to pour a bunch of chemicals on the lawn.... oh wait
then what? What do you do with a shop vac full of murder bees?

But what if I spray the killer into the holes and quickly cover?
just spray and run. They’ll be gone in a day or so. I’ve done several ground nests that way. no problemo

That happened to me, I had a long sleeve shirt and on and they were up my arms, I never ran so fast into the house, my arms had several stings. I waited until nighttime, and I sprayed the hole.

The energy star guidelines that came out this summer say that you should have it at 78 during the day, 82 at night, and 85 when you are away. I guess they want us to uninstall and never reinstall. https://www.tomsguide.com/news/thermostat-recommended-temperature I'm also 72 during the day and 68 at night.
yeah, no. I use AC to be cool not hot. Those guidelines are frickin stupid
