1948 was when their period of record began.
53 was drier (very dry)/ the heat was most pronounced in late August in September.

both the GFS and Euro have warm to hot temps with some isolated storm potential. The days leading up to 2/3 and weekend 5/6 look warm-hot and humid, Lots of high 80s - low 90s potential. We'll see how the storms / fronts position.
