Great post and really disappointing you have to explain it yet again especially to those that should get it.

Well I'm going to stick my cold nose in here and just disagree with this to a CERTAIN extent.  The 300+hr clown maps are fine in my view.

Posters just need to qualify them with the proper language.  Not "Boom!" for example.  I've seen posters drop maps in on the LR discussion with set-up TEXT to the tune of "For what this is worth here's the 384.  Let's see how the next runs look...(etc.) ".

As long as people read there shouldn't have to be 2 pages of discussion on it.

GEFS had a strong storm signal for next week. The control and a couple of panels are some huge hits for here.

And I like how things are evolving and changing inside 7 days. That's how the last storm worked out, too.

Yeah Brick but that last storm had different dynamics in play I believe than this upcoming 'event'

I notice a trend so far this winter, and PLEASE correct me if wrong

    8-10 days out: GFS

5-8 days out: bank on the EURO

inside 5 days: NAM, UK, JMA

The NAM is a 3.5 day model I believe with lower probs. at its extended range (>48hrs).  That said, it has been pretty good this year.

Admin is aware of the problem and it is being worked on. It's more complicated than it seems.

So how is it that complicated?

A--Commitment to advertiser(s) who have paid for this type of annoying pop-up view and now the owner has a contractual obligation to uphold?

    <or>

B--Technical changes required that are more complex and involve an AmericanWX VS reboot (assuming virtually hosted) and/or a re-boot of the hard host site thus requiring more detailed and planned coordination, etc?

    Inquiring minds...  :)

  5. Anybody else getting the adchoices roll up from the bottom of the screen on this site every time they move between threads?  Not happening on other sites for me.

Also checked this from other laptops and it is definitely site specific.

Mods/Admins:  Please get rid of this!!
