  1. Selfishly we want to be as far sw of the eye & eyewall as we can. Having this projected to pass anywhere south of the triangle in my opinion is not good. Doubt it is going across SC so anywhere north of there is just too close.
  2. Is it me or has the path shifted more NW and east once on shore?
  3. That's what I'm expecting. (assuming you meant "now" instead of "not") Hoping the Triangle ends up west of the eyewall in future runs but know that puts you more in the worst zone.
  4. skeptical on these 20"-30" numbers unless doesn't move out of here.
  5. Just to further echo Jet Stream Rider's post. I was in Cary, NC for Fran (c1996) and without power for 5 days plus had three trees on my house. This path, if to be believed, will rock not only the coastal plan but a great deal of the piedmont as well. I would take the initial steps for preparedness starting no later than Monday. It's projected landfall timetable has now raced ahead 12hrs. With Fran I was already without power when the eye came ashore 120 miles away.
  6. Thanks fraz. Rarely go to the home page. I'll have to check it out. [I should get out more often] Mods, I'll stay off the sub forum with my rant then.
  7. So how is it that complicated? A--Commitment to advertiser(s) who have paid for this type of annoying pop-up view and now the owner has a contractual obligation to uphold? <or> B--Technical changes required that are more complex and involve an AmericanWX VS reboot (assuming virtually hosted) and/or a re-boot of the hard host site thus requiring more detailed and planned coordination, etc? Inquiring minds...
  8. Just had a big bowl of bean chili I simmered all day and washed it down with a couple nice ales. Need to come in here and vent a bit. Can somebody open a window in this thread. It'll be gone soon.
  9. Damn boatload of long-term cold air we'll not likely see again this winter is going to be largely wasted.
  10. According to the BRRR model it is 12 degrees outside.
  11. so the 0z gfs will contain the onshore shmampling (ROAB) right?
  12. Need snow for the Snowbeast milk mustache!

  13. You just need to learn to etequate sir. Etequeting is what it's all about. Now etequate your posts
  14. Hey I'm still a CR camp believer. We need cold in these parts folks. Heck, the moisture is just down there waiting. It wants to come here. It's aching to come here. We just have this rare set up with the HPs. It's going to break. I promise you. Just need to have a storm develop in time to catch the cold.
  15. Oh there's no pre-emergent talk that's for sure, but no snow talk either. Just plane ole cold
  16. This storm was a small grim reminder of the gargantuan bust last January for Cary. Albeit I knew much sooner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qc7jblpaPdM
  17. Yep and pretty much a big boo/hiss for the two major metro areas of NC
  18. Forget all the maps, forecasting and projections. That is as true as it gets for my area. If that does not erode it's game cancel.
  19. I would suspect so but will let the experts comment. Regardless you are in a decent if not solid location for the best this storm can deliver outside of the higher elevations.
  20. I've seen this somewhere before. That's a 'Brick' wall-hanging isn't it?
  21. Just be surprised if that NAM 36hr look (2.2"s of water in my location) verified
