  1. 2:30pm Smithtown. 32 S-, 1.6" on the board. Skim coat on the street. No sleet but a mixture of dendrites and graupel here.
  2. 1.5" in Smithtown. The street was covered, but is mostly melted off now as the snow has become lighter and the mid-day solar is doing its thing. Snow began around/before dawn and coated the ground before stopping and initially melting off. Snowdepth on the board was 1.5" as of about a half hour ago. All the precip here has been snow. Temp stuck at 32 - 32.5 all morning. Seasonal snowfall is now over 35".
  3. Not much rain here, but the wind lived up to expectations for a few moments. Got scary a short time ago.
  4. The northernmost part of Long island is a hair farther north than Sloatsburg.
  5. Nothing to compare to having your appendix removed. I hope you are on the mend and feeling well.
  6. This morning near Jackson, NH. https://photos.app.goo.gl/rwWehEgmQKxF9Toy7
  7. Would have been a good day to chase north. Missed the ice but an awesome powdah day at Wildcat. Hard to gage while skiing but from from walking through the lot at end of day it might have been 8-10". Pure fluff and temps stayed in the low teens.
  8. Yesterday's 6z run of the JMA says otherwise. The threat of writing a script in under 10 minutes is over.
  9. Ireland (and England) is tracking storm Eunice. That's "E", as in storm 5. I think the latest "named" patch of drizzle on TWC was something like #50. I have enough trouble remembering my kids names. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/videos https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10521289/100mph-Storm-Eunice-likely-upgraded-widespread-danger-life-RED-weather-warning.html
  10. It can't possibly seem any weirder or more difficult to follow than 10 posts in a row.
  11. You can edit your original post when you think of more to say. Honestly, more people might actually read it if you do it that way. Unless the habit of skipping past the green circled L is too deeply ingrained.
  12. .I'm chuckling here. Not because I don't appreciate the attempt, but because I know I'll mix them up again.
  13. Not sure how long you've been here, but I measured 94.9" in 95-96. My first winter here. Was a great welcome. PS Just 62 more inches of snow this season and we break that record (I'm at 33.1").
  14. TBH, I do know which 3 storms those are, but I forget which is which. It's not like saying Sandy or Gloria. It's just dumb marketing.
  15. Toby means nothing. Which storm/date are you talking about?
  16. Yes, a protest. And a commission to do an investigation. And a committee to investigate the commission. This is an outrage and I'm not going to stand for it.
  17. Stunning day today in Smithtown after the Super Bowl Sunday snowfall (2022 edition), despite occasional blowing snow :
  18. Yesterdays 5.8" snowfall melted to 0.44" water. That's 13.2:1 Ratios were lower early in the event (and we might have lost a couple of hundredths to melting) and quite high during that nice finale that piled up during the game last night. Anyone's guess, but I wouldn't be shocked if the last inch or two of snow was at 20:1.
  19. 5.8" total here. Good snow day for the family. Local jackpot here and my son with the full event jackpot in PVD. His school is closed. Smithtown seasonal total is 33.1" Interesting to note that the Smithtown spotter reporting 5.8" on the OKX PNS is not me. He/she is on the south side of town and sometimes reports some creative numbers on windy storms (e.g., about 50% more than I had in the big January storm). Very unusual for us to have similar amounts.
  20. 5.8" as of 9pm. S- 26F It's been snowing for 19 hours, so no need for the peanut gallery to whine about a warning.
