    well so some fast flying 2-4 inchers? That is fine, then a big storm at some points as things move around. That is a very promising look at a great time of year, and though it will shift around, it seems like we should have 2-3 weeks at least of threats and cold.

    Especially one that slows down as it develops. Clippers and Bs are basically the same thing when they slow down.

    No advisory despite concern being mentioned in the middle of the night discussion at GYX. Since you would want to give people a heads up before they walk out of the house while it’s still dark and don’t realize there’s ice everywhere.

    with the 50-50 and strength of the western ridge, does that east nao retrograde and bridge the ridges?

    It is better to have these things come together later in the process than to sit and watch for 8 days. This showed signs a few days ago on the GFS, then went away, and now is coming back to some extent on all major models. This is good.

    The summer and fall were very orderly. Let's do this properly and get the mountains a good base. Then we get ours.

    what low track does this produce? pacific lows coming under that west coast trof and then down the clippers? or storms going under the sw ridge?

    That's cool. I like the idea of a warm period to do even more yard work, and then when winter comes, it comes. Best case scenario in my view, especially given that we've had a decent amount of cool weather recently...several nights in the 20s.

    As long as it snows during Hannukah....maybe Jerry has a version of that old favorite "I'm dreamink of a vite Channuakah" Actually Xmas snow is nice, but NYE is my bday and I like snowy or at least cold because that night we usually burn one of our big brush fires.

    I like a frost in September, makes me feel like things are on track. 33 this am and pretty heavy frost on my just brush-hogged fields.

    For Tampa Bay, besides the severe flooding, is the risk that the water gets pushed out by the north east winds on the western side of the storm and then surges back in the Tampa Bay as the storm passes to the north east and they get strong southwesterly winds on the south western side of the eye?

    Not that I expect a George-like severe blizzard of 2-4 ft this winter...but in the past sometimes an early fall pattern is a precusor. Certainly was true in 95-96.

    Happy start of the season everyone. Nam looks like 1-2ft everywhere, and a broad stripe of 2-4 ft with lollies to 96?
