  1. Jonesboro is preliminary EF3 at 140mph, per NWS Memphis.
  2. Several new cells starting to develop either side of the MS River in western IL and NE MO.
  3. I'm surprised there isn't a PRESFR on the observation given the very close proximity event.
  4. It may be cycling as velocities are coming down somewhat, in addition to the CC drop expanding farther downrange. At least it'll miss Paragould to the east.
  5. Quell the surprise in that. It couldn't have bombed out at a worse time.
  6. TWC saw it on an ARDOT camera with lots of debris and power flashes.
  7. I haven't seen anything on Twitter from any of the local tv affiliates in HSV, and they're always on top of things.
  8. This cell is transiting 3 adjacent office CWAs and the mess of warnings for small slivers of counties has to be a headache to coordinate.
  9. Radar confirmed tornado over Sewanee as it moved up the terrain.
  10. We'll see what happens with the Franklin County, TN cell as it approaches and climbs the Cumberland Plateau just northeast of Winchester.
  11. I'm really surprised BMX hasn't fired a warning for extreme northern Marion County because it is literally on the county line with Franklin that is HSV's responsibility. EDIT: Just as I hit submit, they put out a SVR warn for it at least.
  12. New TOR warning for cell that I mentioned earlier, and it looks mean as hell. It's going to ride the Franklin/Marion County line and headed right towards the 2011 EF-5 ravaged town of Hackleburg.
  13. Tornado confirmed again NE of Littleville, AL.
  14. Storm in northern Itawamba County, MS just northeast of Mantachie is getting its mid-level rotation together pretty quickly as it is in the process of absorbing a heavy shower on the southern flank.
  15. Dollar General store destroyed just barely outside the northern city limit of Tishomingo, MS.
  16. Honestly, this TOR E is probably not warranted at this point given the velocity presentation and it's clear that the CC expanding is debris falling in the forward flank downdraft.
  17. Confirmed on radar as well now with a CC drop just north of Tishomingo. Brett Adair has it confirmed visually.
  18. Yeah, the cell approaching Fulton, MS is clearly rotating and has a pretty unabated inflow to the south and east. .
  19. Yeah, sorry, it wasn't meant to come across like that. It's the military in me, pretty crass and direct. I'm about to go on Sunday overseas for a pretty extended stay doing weather support, so my attitude hasn't been the best lately. The virus outbreak shifted so much in less than 5 days that it's thrown me completely off track and caused a lot, and I mean A LOT of stress.
  20. That top frame, the tornado had already dissipated. This tornado spun up rapidly and dissipated rather abruptly, according to OHX survey. It managed to die off before hitting both Cookeville Regional Medical Center and the Tennessee Tech University campus.
  21. That’s a terrible camera angle because it’s a parking lot seen through a damaged breezeway. You can seen the windshield of another car “underneath” it. .
  22. It depends on quality of construction. There were 3 homes in a row swept clean in the 4/10/09 Good Friday EF4 in Murfreesboro, the strongest tornado of the year, but were given EF3 rating because of the crappy construction. Cookeville is clearly EF3, and maybe low-end EF4 if homes were constructed of somewhat better build.
  23. Those homes on Mt. Juliet will be the dictating factor if this is upgraded to EF4 or not, and given the immediately adjacent damage to the foundation, the construction was probably not the best. The cars are barely displaced and the trees that fell right beside them aren’t even partially defoliated, even if they are pines. It basically looks like the house just got shoved right over into the backyard. .
