  1. The Nashville/Mt. Juliet tornado is likely EF3 minimum based on multiple nearly completely destroyed structures. The completely destroyed homes in Mt. Juliet may warrant an upgrade, pending structural review.
  2. KNIP (NAS Jacksonville, FL) measured a gust to 66kt with this line a bit ago. I used to do obs & forecasting there and that had to do some heavy tree damage on the opposite side of the St. Johns River for sure. .
  3. NAM is really banking on all mixed precip, looks mostly sleet, for STL, hence the crash in totals.
  4. KC Int'l closed earlier this morning and closed until noon, for now. I was inbound from STL to connect and go on to SAN and we got diverted back and then cancelled.
  5. That's a false picture he's showing, and should know better. Those trees are clearly in spring leaf out.
  6. Headed directly towards DFW Airport. The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a * Tornado Warning for... Eastern Tarrant County in north central Texas... Northwestern Dallas County in north central Texas... * Until 645 PM CST. * At 609 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Forest Hill, moving northeast at 35 mph.
  7. New tornado warning just east of Commerce, TX with a confirmed wall cloud. The storm is unfortunately headed into a region with crappy radar coverage.
  8. Currently a nasty looking tornado just passed by the Springfield, MO radar, and it is confirmed by law enforcement. Also, another suspect storms that is SVR warned out west of metro St. Louis, headed that way over the next 1-2 hours.
  9. The Slidell (LIX) office put out some stronger wording in their afternoon AFD. The potential certainly is there for a significant event for the region.
  10. And it is headed directly towards the NWS office there in Calera. This storm developed near Hammond, LA and has not stopped yet as it prepares to enter the metro Birmingham. Incredible.
  11. This tornado is still on the ground apparently, with the larger population center for the region, Demopolis, in danger within the hour.
  12. Confirmed tornado on the west side of Laurel, MS. .
  13. Potential tornado over a part of northern Alabama with a notorious history, northwestern Madison County, near Harvest. Confirmed tornado from this storm earlier over Tanner, another notorious community. .
  14. Picked up a total of 5.4” so far here in Fenton, MO, with a majority falling today during that nonstop deluge of snow. .
  15. There’s also a classic debris fallout signature north of Raleigh, MS. .
  16. I would not want to be in this region with 4 supercells in close proximity. .
  17. Extensive damage to a church and school in Alexandria, appears to be at least EF2 damage.
  18. Large debris ball southwest of Alexandria, still headed right for them and completely wrapped in rain. .
  19. Gusted to 66mph, sustained at 47mph, at 238am in my backyard in Fenton, MO. These winds are no joke, and this part of metro STL is very hilly, so there's probably a small amount of topographic effects. Plenty of power flashes and very audible tree cracking in the area. It's been a couple years since I've witnessed non-convective or tropical winds like this.
  20. The fact this tornado went through some of the most densely populated sections of the nation's 4th largest metropolitan area with not a single fatality is nothing but a miracle. Timely warnings helped significantly but given the major thoroughfares it crossed with traffic hit and still no deaths is incredible.
