  1. Not hard to accomplish in Dixie, especially with such low LCLs.
  2. Confirmed tornado south of Meridian & headed directly for the city.
  3. Laurel is mostly developed west and north of downtown, with the latter being the main commercial corridor for the region, so this could be incredibly damaging if it does not miss.
  4. There's a small debris signature, and now it appears to be moving to the NNW.
  5. Oh, there is no question, and it probably just took out the small town of Bassfield.
  6. Pretty wild to watch the hook accelerating forward the last 4-6 frames in the radar. This storm is a beast and the next larger populated community downrange is Laurel.
  7. I mean, given available data from the DGX and LIX radars, where the beams are hitting several thousand feet up, it's within their scientific realm and justifiable.
  8. Thankfully this tornado is moving into a vast stretch of pine forest as it heads towards the Pearl River, and there is less than 500 people within a 10 mile radius of its current position.
  9. I think Hattiesburg will be safe, and at most, will miss the city by about 8 miles at closest approach, barring the most strict right movement I've ever seen.
  10. That WF sure is having a time getting up AL, and clearly has some heavy curves in it when you look at the DP spread, especially between Selma (SEM) & Prattville (IA9).
  11. Numerous thunderstorms firing in the Acadiana region of Louisiana, with a couple severe warned cells over Lafayette that need to be watched with the perfect environment in front of them.
  12. The tornado went through a very developed residential area and then right on the northeast side of the interchange with US 165 is a lot of commercial/retail development.
  13. It’s going through the center of Monroe right now. This is really concerning.
  14. Not to be left out, but there is a potentially significant wind threat as the low pressure deepens and moves across TN and into KY with gusts over 50mph likely across a large portion of the area.
  15. Yes. Nashville was an EF3, Cookeville was the EF4.
  16. They're just never done and operationally are impossible to issue.
  17. Thankfully it's south of the city and moving away from any damaged areas.
  18. Macomb, IL is getting absolutely smashed with potentially up to baseball-sized hail.
  19. The overall synoptic pattern is incredible, but what will make or break is going to be in the short term, such as WF position, junk convection, etc. 27/4/2011 was really tampered back for Middle TN because of consistent rain and convection to the south keeping things much more stable. .
  20. Well, this is highly concerning moving into a highly populated area of southern metro Jax.
  21. Eufaula, AL has had bad luck in March in back-to-back years.
  22. There may be the possibility this tornado was on the ground for some time before warning came out, based on radar presentation leading up to the warning.
  23. Radar confirmed tornado near the MS Gulf Coast in George County near Lucedale. This storm will move into Mobile in about a half hour.
