  1. I wasn't completely awake yet earlier, obviously. I remember that one well, it was the first double digit snowfall after we moved here. Picked up 11.25". Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  2. I searched for snowfall maps from that event but only came up with badly pixelated maps. It looks like most of WNC picked up half a foot from that with Mt. Mitchell picking up 25". You have grabbed my attention, Hunter.
  3. I feel lucky to live on Big Bald because I get to see this stuff so often. So, so drastically different from living south of Columbia and in Northern Texas before that. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  4. Putting down a dusting up here. Looked like it was coming down harder coming up Scronce Creek a minute ago than it is here. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  5. Yup, 29 with light snow here too. Edit: it lasted about ten minutes.
  6. Down to 34 here already. It really cooled down this afternoon.
  7. Once the rain moved out we were left with super dense fog. Now we have the dense fog and the rain. Oh, and lots and lots of mud.

  9. I'm not ready to throw in the towel. As Joe can tell you, our corner of Yancey county can score well into April.
  10. There's an area from far NEGA and the tip of SC that runs through much of WNC and ETN into Virginia actually classified as a temperate rainforest. I thought a rainforest by definition receives 100" of rain equivalent annually, but I've seen information in several places that refers to that entire area as one.
  11. I see some more radar returns upstream in ETN. Maybe a little more later on, doubt it'll be much though.
  12. Picked up an inch in the last hour. Nickel sized flakes. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  13. Over 1.5" now and it's absolutely dumping right now. 4-5" total on the roads here. Lots of ski tourists staying here without 4wd and trying to drive around...you can imagine how that's going. It took 45 minutes just to check the mail 1.5 miles away.
  14. Right at an inch so far. Moderate rates and tiny, tiny dendrites. 20.7/20
  15. The moisture has reached me, 21° and light snow currently.
  16. But half a foot of rain in one day? No problem! [emoji38] Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  17. Just under 3.5" on the ground now and still coming down good. Biggest snowfall this season...in prime nwf territory at 4360'...how sad is that?
  18. A little over 2" here today so far. Still coming down good.
  19. My mud is frozen again. Currently 18.2°/17 with big flakes coming down. About an inch so far.
  20. Looks like WSW amounts above 3500'. It would be nice if it's sniffing out another one like it did last week.
  21. I had picked up 5.60" since since midnight last night at 2pm. Won't be able to measure any more though since a tree on the hill next to my house just fell and took out my rain gauge. My mountain is dissolving.
