  1. I'm sitting at 88F. I'm not so sure it is because of a lack of heating. I thought there were disturbances that would kick off storms? Perhaps whatever is at the VA/NC border is stealing all of the dynamics from our area? Or is that feature supposed to cycle through our area after 8pm tonight? It looks to be moving north.
  2. Looks like the Richmond area will be rockin again today.
  3. I'm already up to 84.7F THe sun disappeared on me. But I would think that would be just fine for today's threat.
  4. I see sun and blue sky in Adelphi. 82.2F. Dewpoint is 74. I'd imagine that's enough to get some storms going. 87 shouldn't be too hard to reach in a few hours if it stays partly cloudy.
  5. Looks like storms are gearing up for a strike at the Richmond area. Waiting for some reds to show up west of Front Royal.
  6. Seeing patches of brown in my lawn. It's getting serious. Time for some soaking rains. Hope this stretch of 4 days of rain does the trick if my lawn is to survive the rest of the summer. Hail and wind I can do without though. :-)
  7. I've been in but have been left out. I'm becoming cynical. lol Meanwhile, Columbia gets tornadoes and LaPlata doesn't. Dogs and cats must be living together watching pigs fly overhead.
  8. Sorry to hear about the flying ants. Glad you got most of your lawn back. To be honest, I'm just complaining about maybe 10% of my lawn. But its curb appeal ya know. :-)
  9. I'm ready for HUrricane tracking now. I'm done staring at radar hoping for drops of rain to feed my baby grass. I'll just replant in the fall. Bring on the big storms!
  10. Yay Richmond and eastern shore? There's a yellow approaching DC. May get thunder! Woo hoo!
  11. I was going to mention California weather in my previous post but thought I might offend someone. lol But, I think we all would rather have mid-Atlantic weather as fickle as it may be.
  12. OMG. Another boring day. Some of us may struggle to even hear thunder.
  13. Didn't get the rain I wanted (.20). But it is what it is. There's always the fall planting season. It has been years since I've seen a real nice shelf cloud with dark green behind it. Thanks for the great pics. Would have been nice to be under one of those.
  14. Gee. .18 inches of rain so far. not even enough to stop the sprinklers.
  15. "I can feel it coming in the air today. Oh lord. And I've been waiting for this moment, for about three days. Oh lord." Finally raining. And my weather radio is blasting. Looks like a cell is blooming over Bethesda. Hope people are okay in Fredrick. That was a big cell.
  16. I have new baby grass I'm trying to grow. lol Soon as I put it down, my backyard goes through all these misses. lol But looking at the radar, my little dry spell may be over. I need a good soaking. Maybe 1.5 inches to be safe. GRowing cell by Front Royal may be the money cell for DC.
  17. I just want some rain. Seems like even that's a challenge.
  18. I'm already at 87.6 degrees. Only 3 degrees shy of where I was yesterday at this time. I thought someone said yesterday that too much heat was bad and would cause storms to gust out? Which was news to me because I thought heat was good. Now today we need to be int he 90's again? Is there an optimal temp range for storms not to "gust out?" BTW, what does gust out mean lol
  19. Another wall of storms headed for PA.....AGAIN. They are headed for some pretty serious flooding issues after all these days of constant storms. That's just unreal.
  20. Maybe we're in Bizzaro world. Good runs means no storms and bad runs means we all get a taste?
  21. Would've been nice to have all these storm trains over us for three days. Only have one day left. I just want the rain to be honest. Some small hail would be fun. Any chance this gets strung out until Friday for us down here below the PA/MD line?
  22. Looks unimpressive on radar. Even looks like it is dying.
  23. That storm is still gaining strength it seems. NE MD look out!
