  1. And I'm wearing a flannel because 60 and mist is unpleasant. If it gets too much cooler here in the house I may have to turn the heat on even if just to dry it out some.
  2. We're here today too. The distilleries and wineries still have free samples
  3. I'm at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds at the handmade fair, my wife has a booth here. There are a bunch of wineries and distilleries from NY with free tastings (and sales). I just tried a kickass potato bourbon that they have to call vodka because it's not made with corn or grain. It was soo good @Juliancolton this is pretty much your backyard, come visit.
  4. Color is gettin' good around the state. This is my favorite time to travel around, great colors, dry(er) air for long views and farm stands with tasty stuff all over the place.
  5. I was northeast in the Taconics and western Berks and barely saw a drop yesterday. My wife said it rained all day, we got ~.35".
  6. I just got back from a soggy lap of upstate NY, spent a few minutes along the Niagara river, saw lots of corn and went to a few good breweries. I'll be good if I don't have to drive in the rain again for a while. Up to ~.9 already this morning and that's on top of ~.1 yesterday. That's nothing compared to some spots I went through along the Southern Tier that were 3 feet under. Agriculture season is wrapping up in a big hurry, the leaves are changing and I saw two pickups with brand new snowblowers pulling into their driveways. It's coming...
  7. .02 again makes it .04 for the week. Shaded areas are still wet but sunny areas are hardpan on the surface and dry a few inches down. The garden is definitely winding itself down now, most things just don't seem to want to be growing anymore do I'm pretty much letting it fade. Still pulling tomatoes and peppers and the late planted potatoes are doing really well but the rabbits made short work of turnip greens and peas.
  8. This smoke is insane. I knew it was coming but didn't expect it to be this dense so close to the surface. Yuck.
  9. Those two and KDXR would really give context to what's happening north of the immediate metro area.
  10. Not much happened here, it rained for a short time and soaked things pretty well but the local stations are only showing .01>.02.
  11. It looks kinda like the grinch but wearing a sombrero and a hawaiian shirt with a few strings of Mardi Gras beads.
  12. I don't usually radiate well being high on a hillside, this was more widespread. Like I said, it was 40s well into CT.
  13. 47 in my driveway at 6:30 this morning. It was in the upper 40s all the way through CT until about 8am. Nice morning
  14. This front is moving too slowly... It's so soggy out there
  15. It might be weakening but there are some pretty intense embedded downpours. I pulled a half inch in just a few minutes as the leading edge got here and just got another .3 in 15 minutes.
  16. Pouring again. The first round was intense, a half inch in just a few minutes! It sounded like a million little kids running around on the roof. I'm with LB on the too wet thing. I haven't had many problems with mold allergies in a few years but the last few weeks it's become a problem.
  17. It's absolutely pouring out there (again). The first round unloaded a half inch in just a few minutes.
  18. I don't know what is worse, having to conserve water because the pressure in the well is inconsistent or constant wetness, mold, mildew and a failing garden. I'm gonna go with too wet is worse... I'm really tired of this year... #bringbackthedrought
  19. We see how well that works during blizzards. I think the bottom line is NWS issues watches and warnings and people being people will then go on to make their decisions based on their needs at the moment. Even knowing better I've made some questionable decisions over the years when it comes to moving water over roadways when turning around wasn't a better option or the end goal was important.
