  1. Getting another 2013-14 in the Washington Metro Region would be like winning 3.7 billion in the Mega Millions.
  2. Yeah, I found that one out when I used to live there. It is why I have been predicting average snow tallies from my armchair weather weenie service lol.
  3. It is 44/25 right now in Dale City, VA! That's bona fide January weather! I think you all will be pleasantly surprised by more snow this winter than you think. Stay tuned to Jeb's Winter 2024-2025 Channel! I'll keep you all updated.
  4. Mammoth has 3 inches new snow on the ground with 4 more on the way! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/woolly-cam https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/main-lodge Wow this was a surprise Wind is blowing that snow around, and they are also running snow guns! They open in 96 hours! Palisades Tahoe got in on the action as well! At least three inches so far! Snow is really falling! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams#tab=palisades
  5. If Rafael weakens enough we probably would not mind a few inches of rain in Texas.
  6. Climate change has never been so bad. The entire Gulf Coast needs to get scopelocked on Rafael.
  7. Las Vegas region got demolished https://www.kob.com/news/top-news/photos-early-winter-storm-hits-new-mexico/ Vegas got smothered with a foot of fresh snow lol
  8. Keepin a weather eye on this thing. I know there is zero chance it hits TX, but you never know. The only reason I worry about hurricanes in Austin is everything there is a bad storm in central Texas, guess who gets to help clean up the debris? That, would be me.
  9. Getting smacked by a thunderstorm line that is training over Buda. Its been 87/66 for a while, now it is 63/55 but feels like 43/16. I am NOT used to it being so damned COLD! Today it was 93/73 and I was so comfy, even snoozed outside in it in a chair while watching the puppies.
  10. Uh oh. It's tracking right toward Texas. I am fervently sorry about all the times I bragged about 'no way hurricanes hit mby'. I know damn well we could get literally demolished by a really bad hurricane. Look what happened in Asheville NC, 33 inch rains and 130 mph wind gusts. THAT FAR FROM THE OCEAN! It has been really good knowing you all. Just in case, you never know. I'm not safe either. No place to hide this season.
  11. Now on to a massive gulf storm dumping 20 to 30 inches of rain over the parched deep south, moving slowly into this frigid air mass. It takes on an extreme negative tilt and sucks up Brobdingnagian quantities of moisture from the GoMex and Atlantic. 12 inches of sleet fall in Atlanta. West NC gets demolished with 43 inches of wind driven snow........
  12. Fixed. Because the Jeb said so.
  13. Water can fall from leaves. It has happened to me down here in Texas in August in clear skies under a tree, water raining down on me from the leaves.
  14. Palisades is getting pretty good snows. The stuff is accumulating even down at base level, at 6200 feet! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams
  15. Wow check out Mammoth Mtn summit at 11K feet! They got snow already! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/the-summit McCoy Station at 9600 feet got smacked too! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/mccoy-station Main Lodge looks to have 12 inch drifts in places https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/main-lodge Palisades Tahoe got smashed too! At least 5 inches on the 8200 foot Scope! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams This is ridiculous, this early! Uh-oh this is gonnabe a bad bad winter up there! Gonna need to keep a weather eye on that place from now on! This season is starting very very early!
  16. It helps you are in western VA, at some elevation. Not as much trouble with the warming that comes off the Atlantic in some storms.
  17. Seems like back where I actually lived in the DC Region, we did fairly well with Neutral ensos with snow.
  18. I feel like I just won about 99 billion in mega millions with the megaplier. It's 90 degrees with a 66 dewpoint with a few puffy cumulus. Nice southerly winds. No rain for weeks. Fall will be more like summer. I love Ninas in south Texas! Its Oct 30, nearly November! INCREDIBLE weather!!
  19. You'll be doing many of them. It'll be snow event after snow event, after snow event after snow event. You won't be sleeping much. You will be glued to those weather models.
  20. It's a La Nina fall/winter in the Midwest. You guys will be COLD. You will get buried. This is the YEAR. My Uncle in west Wisconsin has already seen two lows in the low teens. This is going to be a big winter for the Plains and Midwest. That's what Nina does. Prepare accordingly.
  21. I say this winter in the DC Region will turn out to be more of an El Nino type. You will all get more snow than you might think.
  22. We are enjoying some shweet late October weather down here, normal high is 77 but we have been topping out in the low 90s with nice 60 dewpoints and very dry conditions for weeks on end! We just might manage to enjoy a nice mild winter here, while DC Region gets buried in snow in 2024-25!
  23. I see that, however I have slightly elevated concern about possible TC development in the next week. Hopefully, I am nothing more than an old man worrywort. Yeah, that's probably it.
  24. No conspiracy. Climate change, warm ocean waters, Nina. Just need to keep a Weather eye out.
