Congrats to you all on your Christmas winter event, and congrats to us down in the Lone Star State as we celebrate 80 degrees today!!!!! With a 60 degree dewpoint! I was out conducting summer-like jebwalks, short ones to be sure, I had summer attire on, hard to believe with NYE only a week away! I was drinking gallons of hard lemonade like an overly hot horse after winning the Preakness!

Those who poo poo cold air in winter I got just the place for ya - We average 66 in Jan with lows in the mid 40s. Some winters we don't even have frost Look, I know this is absolutely crazy coming from The Jebman --- But I love this place so much! They had to drag me kickin' and screamin' all the way down here - But now I love it with all my heart! 7 month long summers are Da Bomb!

The "drones" can bring in moisture while other "drones" can induce enough low level cold air and thereby produce an old-fashioned DC Blizzard with heavy snow and impressive drifts. Snow day for everyone! A million of the "drones" are actually snow guns, adding prodigious amounts of snow to the storm! I don't even know why everyone is getting all bent out of shape over these "drones". They are here to save winter for the Mid Atlantic! Hello 2013-14 Analog! The "mothership" is in the ocean at the theoretical 40/70 Benchmark, relative to the DC Metro vicinity. It is heating the ocean waters. The storm will develop there and become semipermanent, getting bigger and bigger and developing a huge, Brobdingnagian TROWAL that will dump 3 inch per hour snows over the entire Mid Atlantic Region for two weeks! This storm will create its own cold air! It will also create strong gales that will blow the snow like a Mammoth Resort mega blizzard! I love these "drones" !!!1!111!

Palisades and Mammoth are getting thrashed pretty good by high winds and snows. Palisades got 2 feet in the past 48 hours while Mammoth got shredded by 16-24 inches of pow, with possibly another 1-2 feet overnight. It's gonnabe a massive powder day in both resorts tomorrow, with deep stashes all over the place off groomed runs.
