    snow on Halloween is never a good sign longer term.

    LOT just referred to a band of showers coming through in mid October in it's AFD as :A "MANITOBA MAULER" . I always viewed it in a different light. (as something that is a quick hitting snow and wind event in winter not a October rainshower)

    warm September's make for one of the best months of the year...if you enjoy warm and tranquil... as the sun sets on another summer.

    Heat when the kids head back to school and in early September has always been a thing, Just like a stretch of 80's in October. A period of 70's near Turkey day. The good news Sun is tempered quite a bit already versus June and July. Now if the angle of the sun begins to increase after Labor day that's a concern.

    Yup. Bought some ice cold Hamms beer from the land of sky blue waters to drink and put on my fore head while sitting outside a bit later. My idea of how to shed a few pounds. Love it.

    Local schools go back 8/22, and the wife returns to the classroom so this makes sense.

    i like it better when I can smell the smoke. Makes me feel like I'm camping on those early mornings when you can still smell the night befores campfire.

    I've been in the landscaping business my whole life. Was cutting lawns 10 hours a day at 12 for my Dad's business. Oddly, I ilke the look of your lawn.

    Really didn't have grilling time while dodging tornadoes on the menu today.

    I think the difference is the areas that took 3-5" over the 4th of July weekend. We were in that zone.
