actually quite the bump in these parts along the I-88 corridor. Lot added us to the Advisory and bumped are totals from 1-2 to 3-5 inches. Fairly substantial change. Dry air still a concern. 

just hoping for a couple inches at best out this way. hope that trend translates a bit east. Never much luck when fighting these type pf scenarios.

Tough call here as we'll be pretty close to the northern edge.  Looks like a 1-2" type event.  Enough to make it look wintry again.

Perfect weather to remove the outside Christmas decorations. Winter will return soon enough.

 

Trends are looking up ....always like seeing a flip right around the holidays after a warm period. Bodes well...I believe 1994 was one of the better ones.

NOAA.  They must be basing that on Dec.1- Dec. 3. There's a 50/50 likelihood that won't be correct and a 50/50 chance it will.

Mid - winter mode, and it's not even December. Another covering overnight. Freezing Rain chance, than heavy rain back to light snow early next week. Just seems if there's a chance of snow it finds away...I smell a busy winter for snow lovers in northern Illinois.

Huh.

I cant do it again. I'm mentally drained from the weekend, and physically drained from moving that 6" of cement I got. That dont even include all the landscaping damage I incurred.

Right at 11" on avg here. Back edge of the snow is slowly making it's way towards us, so perhaps another 2hrs to go.

You should always be concerned about a dry slot. Worse, a dry slot in this scenario makes no sense, and in that area is odd.

What did you get in 2015?

Maybe 4-5inches of slushy accumulation on grassy surfaces. Given the post storm temps, wind that event will not be comparable here.

If all goes as planned this will be the greatest November snowfall in my lifetime. The 1975 storm at Thanksgiving melted in a day. Remember it vividly and I was in 8th grade. The weather addiction stuff starts early...odd affliction.
