  1. Well we learned this on the same day. I was looking at the Euro 12z earlier and by 6z is showed .65" of zr at MGJ and the temp was 31. I then looked at the max and min temp for the six hours leadup up to 6z which was 38 and 31. It just didn't add up that it would be that much freezing rain over those six hours with that range in temps.
  2. I know that @Juliancolton mentioned this in the main thread yesterday but people have to stop looking at Freezing Rain qpf maps and thinking that's how much ice will accrete on trees and power lines. NWS Upton even has this stated on their Ice Accumulation map but I don't think people even read it: https://www.weather.gov/okx/winter I am definitely hoping for the under on zr but people have to realize that 1" of zr on a qpf map roughly translates into .39 of ice on trees and power lines (rooting for the under). There are many variables but you get the drift.
  3. Early install? Not liking what I see on the models but as you pointed out all that that QPF does not equate to accretion at a 1:1 ratio so we'll see.
  4. The interview is with American, they are already on rescheduling it appears.
  5. Have you seen those videos of him dancing? SMDH!
  6. #1 son looking forward to the big dump out in South Bend starting tonight but has a flight Thursday afternoon to Dallas for an interview...
  7. That makes sense to me. So if there is ice on ones PWS radiation shield do you think that would cause a similar issue?
  8. Looks like another busy week. FWIW, the 0z Euro.
  9. That's a good question. I would think once completely frozen they wouldn't cause it to be warmer there. Hopefully someone smart here can chime in on this.
  10. Decoupled here for sure. Forecasted low was 7, sitting at -4 currently.
  11. Not gonna lie, I was surprised too when I read it but then checked out the WeatherLink map and saw just how cold it was in that neck of the woods. Impressive.
  12. Thanks to @wdrag I make a point to refer to these now. Clearly the Walden site has an issue with the precipitation as they must’ve had more than that but here you go, precipitation and snowfall from Friday morning through this morning.
  13. Oh he’s serious, you can see the below zero temps all around him.
  14. It’s a rain gauge that can also be used to catch snow when you take the top off and smaller cylinder out to then melt down to get the LE and it can be used to get the LE in the snowpack
  15. My friend talked his mother into renting a town car for us. He damn near wrecked it taking a corner too fast, the best part of which was my prom date sliding across the back seat into to me with all that God had bestowed upon her…let’s just say I had my hands full. That was the most action I got that night from that innocent catholic girl who went in to marry a doctor and have 6 kids. Clearly that night was her last “slumming it”.
