my sons have block schedules now...it's brutal-4 long periods a day classes only meet every other day now
-
Wow never heard of that. Not sure what the benefit is? There's a PD day here once a month but that's it.
-
Business as usual here. Usually takes a few days of heat for them to call an early D... Still have about 1/2 of the schools in town without AC...ridiculous for 2024
-
Some here too but it's disease at this point

2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season
Brian5671 replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Tropical Headquarters
The forecasts with a large # of total storms look to be in serious trouble. Wonder if the weaker than expected Nina also playing role in less storm formation. -

Not much will make it down this way and if it does it's a brief shower. Activity will decline once past the heating of the day

We have one here-it's great for those nights you just need to pull in some cool air vs turning on the central air. Downside is that I'm sure alot of heat escapes through it in the winter as it's metal and certainly has some leaks on the edges. We have a blanket we put over it in the attic to help with that.

Yep if the "big pattern" doesn't show up by late January it's likely not coming. Should have been a warning last year when the January cold was underwhelming and we went right back to the torch after 8 days or so....

Move to Tampa, FL you get 8 months of it

Clear and 69 here. Tough to do in August with full sun. Happy to give the AC a break-July electric bill was insane
-
off hour run We always do but at least the sun angle is lower by then. July heat is the worst.

Hopefully dry for awhile. A tropical system would be a disaster but looks quiet for another week in that dept.
