  1. You really can't. too widespread at this point. I laugh when people say to kill any spotted lanternfly you see-that's like trying to hold back the tide with a broom. Years ago they sprayed malathion to combat west nile disease in mosquitoes-it possibly led to a large die off of lobsters in LI sound. Not worth it in the end.
  2. yeah the forest is lush here but alot of oak and norway maple, some hickory and tulip trees too
  3. we get a seabreez off the sound so we are always cooler than inland areas
  4. models drier for the weekend-just seems like some scattered convection Saturday on most of them
  5. everything is lush and green here from all the rain. 76 and sunny right now.
  6. Actually looks nice out there today-74 and sunny here. Last 30 days have not been great
  7. RGEM and NAMS are dry for a chunk of Sat-but they are out of range as that is hour 84
  8. Low taxes, plentiful land in some areas....but now much higher homeowner's premiums so it's slowing...
  9. back edge coming through the city-maybe some see some partial clearing later on...
  10. Boring but we got used to crazy events the last 10-15 yrs-3 tropical events, a bunch of big winters, floods, etc-2009-2018 was one of the wildest stretches ever
  11. classic backdoor bust o rama-temps going nowhere today-here we have drizzle since about 12:30pm
  12. mist and drizzle here-the wind has stopped though
  13. drought reversal has played into that-fairly wet since mid May-remember around May 1st we were all begging for rain? Seems like a long time ago now.
  14. 61 here and windy/overcast...feels like October! But the AC is off, so there's a win
  15. Close to an inch of rain here in 2 storms b/w 3:30 and 6pm. Cooler/drier today
  16. Sandwich job on the rain here-north and south of us-very humid 75 degrees
  17. models seem to be north this am with the best coverage. (Which is fine by me!)
  18. no more ugly/loud window units either! 84 here
  19. Big move south by the 12K NAM but it's a garbage model so who knows - edit-the RGEM moved a bit south at 12z so maybe it's onto something
  20. That euro seasonal is a blowtorch for the country
  21. MDR region cool-might inhibit some tropical formation this year if that holds...
