  2. I learned something this year. -EPO or bust. The Pacific controls the cold air. Even with a good arctic and a good Atlantic, temps are still marginal at best for snow in early season events. Once you get to Jan/Feb a good Atlantic/Arctic can make it happen, but Nov/Dec/March you need a -EPO.
  3. GFS has been extremely stingy lately. 384 run and no snow is something I have never seen. I miss the 40-50" long range clown maps, even if they never happen.
  4. That's a pretty strong -AO with very little arctic air in the lower 48
  5. Can't wait, the snow will be moodflakes if anything though. We actually match up well against the Steelers, I think we take it.
  6. RGEM has a decent little LES band Sunday night in Monday.
  7. Breaks in the clouds this evening are allowing for some better viewing of the night sky. Unfortunately the geomagnetic storm expected tonight appears to be weaker than originally expected, and the "Northern Lights" don't appear to be as likely tonight for the area. For more details, visit: swpc.noaa.gov
  8. Just wanted to make sure, my buddy just called me we were going to head out to boonies to try to see them tonight. Thanks!
  9. THE STORM HAS FIZZLED: As predicted, a CME (pictured below) hit Earth's magnetic field during the early hours of Dec. 10th (1:30 UT), but the impact did not cause a geomagnetic storm. Mid-latitude auroras are not likely tonight. Boo! I've never used this website, is it accurate?
  10. What's the excess death number at for USA so far this year?
  11. I don't think I've personally ever seen a full GFS run in December with no snow
  12. Trying to plan out my trips for 2021 once we can travel again. Thinking of going to Alaska for 2 weeks in summer. I think international travel won't be full go until 2022 or late 2021.
  13. The lake will be cooling too, that's the biggest impact. But doesn't look like it will go down that quickly. Will probably be a few degrees above average at end of month.
  14. That's why our totals are going down each year. We need cold air to get the lakes going. The warmer it gets the less LES we get.
  15. Buffalo gets no snow until Christmas in nearly every model with a decent pattern. I'm going to drop snowfall to around 55-60" total for year.
  16. This 100% confirmed? Was going to drive out somewhere to watch tonight.
  17. Coincides with GEFS, if anything that one is going further east.
