    The models are really struggling, but I think the overall picture is that cooler air is coming and in late January you don't need much for it to snow. At least some stuff to track.

    That Bills game nearly gave me a heart attack. Most stressful last few minutes of any game in awhile. The Colts should have won it, the coach threw that game as well as their FG kicker missing that 30 yarder.

    Starting to look better for a decent LES band to form over Erie county Tues-Weds time period. Even the GFS is showing it. Could be a little sneaky event.

    Dave the entire 2nd half of GEFS look like this. This is also peak climo so any blue is 20s, and purple is teens/single digits for highs.

    Euro ENS. This is when pattern change begins. It should lead to an eventually -EPO later on in the month but still way too far out. We will have a much better idea by next weekend.

    It was so good too. It instantly boosts my winter grade to at least a C. Last winter we had ZERO lake effect snow bands.

    Yeah its peak climo. Any negative departure on that map is well below freezing here. Also the cold is far enough out still to be using ENS instead of OP runs and they all still seem pretty favorable for a decent pattern, not great but workable.

    I'm so excited and nervous. I feel pretty confident against the Colts thinking 28-17.

    Check back in about 7-10 days. Nothing at all noteworthy for quite awhile.

    If you like winter conditions its really a good pattern for all. It provides consistent cold. I'm not sure if that's what we're even going to get as the cold keeps getting pushed farther back and not as potent, so we will see. But 2-4" every couple of days adds up with the occasional 4-8" clipper with lake effect behind it.

    A great pattern for upstate if it comes with cold air, the best one actually.

    About the most we could ask for in peak climo, nice -EPO developing at the end there.

    Euro showing it but further south and not nearly as cold. We want the GFS but even a blend would bring a bunch of chances of snow to our area.

    BUF is +7.2 for January so far.

    Hundreds of inches showing up along Pac coast mountains. Max was 122" 1:10

    Euro still not buying it. A little after mid month the EPO starts to go negative so we should get at least seasonal arctic air around here.

    I think it's coming the overall long wave pattern its conducive to big time LES, but its still so far out in time and the Euro hasn't really been on the same page with the other guidance packages which makes me hesitant at this moment in time.

    This is crazy. Thanks so much for this post. Did your symptoms get better over time quickly or extremely slow? Because if these last for 10 months, put me down right now. You think maybe I had covid or something the last few months and this is a side effect?
