  1. The models seem all over the place for tomorrow, some too far east some so far west NYC starts as rain.
  2. Snow starting to accumulate on colder surfaces in southern Yonkers.
  3. The best zone for both events might be right around I287 where they are getting snow today and should be far enough inland for all snow tomorrow and close enough to get good precip.
  4. It may or may not be cold enough for the snow to stick in the city today. Tomorrow looks good for NYC.
  5. At the southern end of the county snow is picking up but no accumulation as of yet.
  6. This storm is confusing but good trends today most models now showing 3-4 inches for most of the region.
  7. Yes it's definitely not the most impressive storm totals wise, probably won't even reach what most of the area got December 14th. It is pretty though.
  8. NAM may not have been totally off it did have a nice band over NYC around 1:00 am and that generally seems to be happening.
  9. Light sleet, maybe even freezing drizzle. Maybe it backfills a bit but this storm has been pretty lame.
  10. The NAM/HRRR still say this is far from over for NYC and points NE, hope that stuff from Central NYS is coming.
  11. Snowing pretty hard out right now. Probably the heaviest its been all storm.
  12. Yes the biggest problem hasn't been the sleet mixing but more so the crappy rates/ratios (I'm talking NE of CNJ).
  13. The storm earlier this month was way better than this so far.
  14. It's disappointing given what many models were showing and what NWS predicted but at the end of the day a primary tracking into the midwest is usually not a formula for significant snow in NYC. Fortunate in a way to get an all frozen event out of this setup.
  15. He said compared to the city which I agree. The northern suburbs generally do better than NYC/LI but LI def does better than NYC in most events.
  16. I'd expect most of NYC to still reach 3 inches.
  17. Snow finally seems to be picking up in southern Yonkers.
  18. Stony Brook is a great spot to be in for a setup like this.
  19. Sleet already in Brooklyn? NYC probably busting low unless rates increase fast.
  20. I know it's still early in the storm but agree leaning lower end of totals for the five boroughs and even lower Westchester. The banding upper westchester through LI seems to be creating a lot of subsidence.
  21. Must be subsidence due to banding north and south of there but agree one inch is ridiculous.
